The total land area used for agriculture by this community is 3 square miles (.9 square kilometers). The mainstay of local economy are services provided by nine restaurants (five grocery stores, three delicatessen stores), sixteen farmers markets (six Wednesdays per week), five assisted living/senior citizens residences (three apartments), two banks (First National Bank - 1911-present), three schools -Banning Middle School District #1 1910-1978; Brentwood Union High School District #2 1926-present; Colusa Junior College District #1 1916-1934; Dumont Junior College District #2 1916-1951) as well as personal services rendered by seventy seven individuals employed primarily through fifty six businesses or organizations: forty four farmers markets have been held each week since 2009 totaling 1,531 events served over that period; thirty one public transportation agencies serve commuters traveling into downtown San Francisco or points east via BART or Muni bus lines during peak hours only
