Gun chokes have a long and varied history in the United States. One of the earliest known gun-related choke devices was a metal band or coil used to restrict access to firearms by those who were not able to fire them. The first commercially available handguns, such as the Colt Model 1851, had no trigger guard and could only be fired with a single hand by squeezing the trigger with one hand while holding onto the grip with the other. This made it difficult for opponents to shoot at close range without hitting someone else. In 1892, an American inventor named Isaac Asimov designed a handgun that featured a pistol grip that allowed both hands to hold onto it using different grips. This gave opponents more difficulty shooting at close range because they would now need two hands to use either of the pistols’ triggers instead of just one. The early modern pistol also featured a hammer that was used to cock the firearm, which made it less possible for an opponent to hit someone else if they were too close. The development of rifles and shotguns changed how gun chokes are used today. With rifles and shotguns, there is now a “firearm stock” that is attached directly to the barrel rather than being attached via straps or pins like handguns are. This allows for people who are not able to hold onto their firearms securely (such as people with multiple sclerosis) or those who have large hands (like military veterans) to use them safely. Additionally, rifle stocks come in different lengths so that shooters can reach different parts of targets easier than whenguns only came standard with short stocks that couldn’t be reached comfortably by most people.

Ukiah (pronounced "yoo-kuh-ah") is a town in Santa Clara County, California, United States. The population was 10,844 at the 2010 census. It is part of the San Francisco Bay Area. The Ukiah post office has been in operation since 1851. The name Ukiah comes from two places: One was near where the railroad crossed the Russian River and another along what is now Main Street. The place called Ukiah may have been named for a man who ranched there in the early 1800s and his family included seven children: Ulysses S. Grant (1807–1874), Eliza Jane Grant (1809–1886), Edward Everett Hale (1795–1880), Hiram Wright Grant (1811–1892), Franklin Pierce Grant (1784–1946) and Lucy Wright Grant née Woodbury (1800–1872). In 1851, when it opened its doors to settlers, it was one of only a few post offices in Santa Clara County with an interior brick room with no wind or rain screens on its windows - this became standard practice shortly thereafter! The first settler in Ukiah was George Witherspoon from Illinois who arrived about 1840 and built himself a log cabin on what is now Elmira Road. A year later he married Sarah Harker from Salem, Massachusetts and they moved into their own house east of town on land that still stands today as part of Rancho Pastoria de las Pulgas which comprised much of present day Ukiah. George Witherspoon died less than two years after arriving hereabouts and his wife did too soon to bear him any more children so she may have left behind three unmarried daughters who eventually came to live here also - Maria Anna Harker Griswold(b 1847), Edna Mabel Harker Singer(b 1861)), Alma Lillian Harker(b 1865)). After Mrs Witherspoon's death her husband's heirs sold off most or all of their holdings including Rancho Pastoria de las Pulgas but retained ownership over some 640 acres west of town including most or all of present day Ukiah which they interpreted as their original homesteadstead! Sarah Harker's brother-in-law Josias Thurston bought her share from them sometime before 1850 although we do not know when exactly! Josias Thurston had come overland through Oregon Territory on horseback during the Gold Rush era and encountered Indians living near China Lake whereupon he decided to settle among them - he founded Red Bluff south of Sacramento about 45 miles north east of Sacramento Valley onshore then leased back to the US Army under General Riley circa 1860! Here he erected a sawmill, gristmill & agricultural store operated until 1862 when it went out OF BUSINESS because local residents could not get financing due to Panic Of 1863!!! Apparently Josias Thurston met James Irvine while journeying upriver from Stockton via Yuba City during late summer/early fall 1863 en route back home across Kings Canyon NP & were impressed by latter's cowboy skills so Irvine agreed to help finance James' new enterprise!!! This successfully finished up starting an intensive irrigation mission New Water Power Plant began producing power June 30th 1865 at Willits Creek watercourse southwest corner old Presidio Depot lot
