The city's economy shifted from aerospace manufacturing to professional services after 1990 when Silicon Valley began to grow nearby and local companies moved into Twentynine Palms. In 2000, Twentynine Palms passed a resolution establishing itself as an autonomous community within the county with full governing authority over its own affairs including taxation, government services and zoning laws (unlike most county municipalities which are subject to county regulation). On January 1st 2020, this autonomous status was formally recognized by the County Board of Supervisors with passage of Resolution No. 20-020 setting forth twenty three points outlining how autonomy will be exercised including but not limited to: The following year on February 12th 2020 Mayor John Ramos presented his plan fortwenty five years growth fortwenty five years economic development through programs like job training or apprenticeship opportunities for locals who have skillset that could be used in other businesses or industries

Twentynine Palms is a town located in San Bernardino County, California. The population was 27,584 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Greater Inland Empire region and is bordered by Riverside to the east, Escondido to the west, and Jurupa Valley to the north. The first Europeans to visit Twentynine Palms were Father Junipero Serra and his party on May 10, 1769. They built a small mission here named Nuestra Senora de la Concepcion (Our Lady of Conception). A larger mission was founded here in 1874 by Father Francisco Gomez with help from Rancho Simián de Alisal. The ruins of this mission are still visible today. In 1875 Anthony Trollope started cattle ranchers called Adobe Walls near Twentynine Palms Creek. This area became known as Adobe Hills because of these ranching operations. After a few years of operation, Trollope sold his holdings and moved away from Twentynine Palms altogether. He died in 1882 at age 54 while on vacation in Mexico City with his wife Eulalia Hillis Trollope-Blair. After her husband’s death, Mrs. Trollope-Blair continued running her cattle ranch until her own death in 1924 at age 87 years old; she was one of only two women who ever became millionaire ranchers in California during that time frame (the other being Lillie Mae Morse). A post office called Twentynine Palms was established in 1886, but no mail arrived here until 1907 when it changed its name to San Bernardino after San Bernardino County had been created from parts of Riverside and Orange counties . In 1916 there was an earthquake which damaged some structures within town limits; however no loss or damage occurred within the community itself as people were evacuated quickly for fear that another quake might happen any time soon! The twelfth century Christmas season service celebrated annually at Our Lady Of Grace Cathedral served as brief interruption to normal life before resuming following the January 1st weekend following each year’s winter break; this event still takes place every December 25th despite recent efforts by city planners not to coincide with typical holiday events due to concerns about traffic congestion aroused by large crowds attending services which often reach well into excesses during peak hours! Twentynine Palms is a city in San Bernardino County, California. It was founded on July 20, 1874 by James Irvine and his brother-in-law, Hiram Beall. The original population of the town was only 100 people. In 1907, the city annexed part of neighboring Riverside County. In 1920, Twentynine Palms became an independent city. On October 14, 1960, it merged with Riverside to become one municipality under the name of Riverside-Twentynine Palms.
