Turlock, California is a small town located in Inyo County, California and has a population of just over 100 residents. It is the only incorporated community in Inyo County and was founded by Mormons in 1867. In 1952, Harry Houdini again performed an illusion show at The Bluewater Saloon which drew over 100,000 spectators! Today it still offers performances each month and features interactive exhibits such as magic shows and illusions for children aged 7-12 years old!

Over time however, cultural changes at City Hall led to decreased economic activity in certain areas while others saw an increase in visitation from tourists. Turlock was founded in 1887 by George Turlock and his wife, Emma. The town was named for John Sutter, the founder of the Sutter Ranch in California. In 1907, the Turlocks donated land to make way for a public school district.
