A company named Blackhawk was started in 1911 by two men who had been working on holster design together, Frank Brown and Harvey Hirsch. Their first product was a belt-mounted holster that used an early version of the modern retention system. It was very successful and they continued to make it until their death in 1967. In 1925, another company called Browning began manufacturing holsters for revolvers. The designs at this time were much more efficient than those made by Blackhawk and Hirsch, but they were not as popular because they did not provide as much security when worn around the waist like belts did. However, Browning continued making holsters until their bankruptcy in 1976. The popularity of handguns has led to the development of other types of firearms such as shotguns and rifles that are now difficult or impossible to carry without a holster. Holsters have also become necessary for people who work outdoors or do a lot of physical activity outside where carrying a weapon is not possible or desirable.

The Turlock holster company was founded in 1909 by a man named J.C. Robbins and his wife, Clara. The Robbins family ran the business until the early 1940s when it was bought by the Laughlin Company. The later Laughlin Corporation continued to produce holsters for many years until they were discontinued in 1984.
Turlock, California is a small town in the San Joaquin Valley of California. The population was 5,711 at the 2010 census. It is located in Kern County. Turlock first arrived on the West Coast of North America in 1849 when land grantees from Spain established a rancho ( Rancho de las Mulas ). The original settlers were primarily Anglo-Saxon and Catholic. The town was platted in 1858 by John Sutter, who named it for his friend and business associate, Elijah Turlock (1793–1872). During World War II, much of the town was destroyed by fire caused by munitions dropped over its area during the bombing campaign against Japan. Today, most of the buildings are gone but there are still some remaining evidences of early life such as a post office building and schoolhouse that served as military barracks during World War II. The turlock grape variety is one of several varieties grown in Turlock today.

Turlock is a small town in the California Central Valley, located about an hour northeast of Fresno. The population was 1,521 as of the 2010 census. It is part of the Fresno-Madera Metropolitan Statistical Area. The name "Turlock" comes from the Nahuatl word "tzalaráhua," meaning "place where people live." The town's first postmaster, George Wightman, named it after his birthplace, Turlock, England. In 1887, when the Central Valley was divided into two regions—the North Valley and the South Valley—Turlock became part of the North Valley. In 1902, during World War I, General John J. Pershing ordered all America's military forces to move westward from Mexico City to new positions in what is now central California. As a result of this order and because much of southern California was still under Spanish control at that time (and hence lacked any military installations), most people in northern California were unaware that war had started until it got underway. Consequently, when American troops arrived in town on October 15th of that year they found no one home and no stores or supplies available; they had to build their own campsites near by while they awaited orders to return home. On November 2nd American troops broke through Spanish lines at San Juan Bautista and took over Mexican territory east of Turlock; this caused great excitement throughout northern California because it marked an end to hostilities between Mexico and America for several years (and also demonstrated how effectively American soldiers could fight). On November 3rd Congress passed legislation giving Americans possession of all Mexican territory east of Los Angeles except for a tiny slice north of San Fernando Valley which would continue to be under Spanish rule (this area would become known as Rancho Santa Fe). This event marks perhaps the most significant change ever wrought upon Californian history as it gave birth not only to Sequoia National Park but also Riverside County which lies within Californian borders today! This event also contributed greatly to bolster support for Proposition 8 which sought passage inCalifornia ballot box asking citizens if they wanted their state Constitution amended so that same-sex marriage would be allowed statewide.—notwithstanding objections from many religious organizations who felt such changes could damage their ability To Sell Goods In These Same Locations!
Turlock was first settled in 1849. It became a city in 1893. The city was named for John Turlock, who donated land to the city.
