Today’s gunswivels come from quite an interesting history; beginning with an invention that was made by two men who had nothing else to do on their days off: Gunsmith Harry DeHart and Pistol Maker John Browning. In 1935, DeHart designed what is today known as the Browning “B” series pistol barrel swivel system – a device that would allow users To change barrel position while firing by using just one hand while keeping the other hand closed around the firearm’s stock safety handle; this was possible because at that time guns did not require any type of ammunition release button or magazine release catch when firing live rounds! Browning continued development on his design until 1941 when he patented it known as the Browning Hi-Power Pistol Barrel Swivel System – later becoming known simply as the Browning Barrel Swivel System (BBS). The BBS eventually became popular enough that it spawned its own manufacturer: Bushmaster Arms Corporation (BA). In the early 1800s, Torrance was a small farming town on the southern end of Los Angeles County. It was first called Saugus and then Torrance. The name came from two Indian tribes, the Tongva and the Chumash, who were living in present-day Torrance when it was named for them. In 1853, Pierre Teitelbaum bought land in what is now downtown Torrance from José Altuve de la Vega and began to build a home there. By 1861, he had built a large house on North First Street that remains today as part of theTorrance Library System. In 1868, he married Maria Margarita Martinez de la Cruz and they moved to their new home. The city of Torrance was founded on April 14, 1917 by incorporation of portions of Anaheim City and unincorporated areas east of Pasadena Boulevard. At its creation, Torrance had a population of about 60 people. On December 12, 1922, voters approved passage of Proposition No. 10 (Measure X), which provided for annexation by Los Angeles County of all lands west of San Fernando Valley Boulevard northward to CPUK Road including portions of Orange County lying within that boundary but not including both Anaheim Hills and Irvine Ranch deer hunting areas; this area became known as West Hollywood
