However, by 1970 there had been a resurgence in business and culture with several restaurants and galleries opening up around downtown In 2006, Susanville elected Mayor candidates who pledged to keep local government open and affordable while providing important services such as public safety and libraries that are essential to residents’ quality of life; creating jobs through new businesses started from scratch; investing in infrastructure such as road repairs; balancing budget every year with responsible spending plans which don’t disproportionately burden taxpayers with higher than necessary taxes; increasing access to education opportunities for everyone through private/public schools partnerships; reducing crime rates by hiring more police officers; & supporting our local economy through job growth initiatives within our community

Susanville is a small town located in Sacramento County, California. The population was 2,711 at the 2010 census. Susanville is named for Susan B Anthony, an early feminist and anti-slavery activist who moved to Sacramento in 1853. In 1907, the U.S. Post Office (and two other businesses) were destroyed by fire in what is now the downtown core of Susanville. The community rebuilt quickly, and by 1912 had a full school and two churches. When statehood came about in 1850, Susanville's residents voted to become a part of the new state of California instead of remaining within Sacramento County which they considered their home. In 1916, when State Route 16 was first built through the town center, it became one of only a few places in California where both sexes could go together without fear of geting lost or being late for class or work. By 2000, however, most transportation options had improved andSusanville began losing its status as an important regional center; nevertheless it remains an interesting place to live and visit
In 1847, Susanville was founded by two brothers, John and George. The town became a small farming community with a population of around 100 people in the late 1800s. In 1906, theSusanville State Agricultural College was established and later renamed California State University at Susanville. The college is now part of the University of Southern California.
