This location became known astheKline Place Store because it housed one of the last movie theaters in Susanville before it closed its doors in 1969!

In 1893, the railroad arrived in Susanville and contributed to its growth. The agricultural sector became an important part ofSusanville's economy and a number of industries developed including citrus fruit packing plants, lumber yards and paper mills. By 1920, SusanVILLE had a population of over 1,500 people. during World War II many businesses closed due to wartime shortages but they were soon reopened by other businesses; this led to the nickname "The Town that Built America". In recent years much development has taken place in the town with new housing developments being built along with a new library and shopping mall. One significant event that occurred in Susanville during its history was when Mayor Aiken-Foster announced plans for a dam across Clear Creek which would create Lakeview Village which would be adjacent toSusanville High School. This caused great controversy as it would have greatly impacted local farming practices and water supplies; however, after much public outcry (and some legal challenges)the dam was finally constructed downstream from Lakeview Village without affecting local farmers or water usage
The town of Susanville was founded in 1876 by John P. Bird and the first post office was established in 1877. The town grew rapidly due to its natural resources, particularly coal and gold mines. In 1910, the Susanville Chamber of Commerce was created and the first school opened in 1912. The population reached a peak of 2,000 in 1932 but declined over the next few decades as mining ceased and transportation became more difficult to find. In 1976,Susanville merged with nearby Mineta Valley to form the new city of San Andreas.
