Gunswivels were first patented in 1892 by Leonard P. Wright and John L. Sullivan. The invention allowed for easier access to the firearm's magazines, making it more difficult for someone unauthorized to access the gun. Gunswivels are still in use today and can be found on many firearms.
There are many types of firearms, but essentially all firearms use a rotating stock to cock the barrel. The cocking motion causes the breechface of the firearm to move up and down, which in turn fires rounds from the chamber. Firearms that rely on gas-operated mechanisms (i.e., those with shotguns) generally have a cam system that revolves around an armature encased in metal or plastic. When pressure is applied to one side of this armature, the rotational force causes the armature to rotate about its longitudinal axis. This rotation then creates a V-shape transfer function which allows for Improved Accuracy With A Shotgun (IACWS) certification for some shotguns using this type of mechanism
In 1906, the city of Stanton was founded in central California by John C. Fremont and his wife, Nellie. The first business in town was a store run by J.C. Fremont and his brother-in-law George Washington Dirks. The first settlers were men from Oregon who had come down the Central Valley to prospect for land. In 1908, the City of Stanton incorporated as a municipality with a population of about 150 people.

Gun swivels date back to the 1800s. At that time, many people in America used guns with two different types of barrels – one with a Twist grip and the other without. The Twist grip guns were often used for target practice because they allowed you to adjust the angle of your barrel by twisting it. The gun swivels were invented in 1868 by Nicholas-Jacques Conte and Gustavus Adolphus Meinhof. They functioned as stops on firearms breech doors so that the rounds could be ejected more easily from the firearm. Gunners had to remove and reload their firearms multiple times during battle, so having a stop on the breech door would make life much easier for them. However, when handguns started becoming popular in America, gunners began wanting a single-barrel design which would allow them to shoot any type of ammunition they wanted without having to remove and reload their weapon multiple times. The resulting design became known as the Glock pistol and was adopted by law enforcement agencies all over America in 1977. Today, there are still many Glock pistols with gun swivels – especially those made before 2007 – because they continue to be popular among police officers and other licensed professionals who need easy access to their weapons while on duty or traveling.
On July 22, 1994, the NRA announced that it had purchased a controlling interest in the companies that make and sell gun swivels. The purchase was made in order to promote gun safety and prevent future shootings by making it easier for people to identify firearms that could be used in crimes.
