In 1916, Sperry Company became involved with the manufacture of firearms in South Pasadena. They manufactured handguns until their merger into Remington Arms Company in 1958. In 1919, J.W. Hogue Manufacturing Company founded a company that manufactured rifles and shotguns in South Pasadena. The company was known for its rifle models such as the Model 1895A1 which had a receiver-mounted safety system and an adjustable stock. In 1967, Colt Hi-Power Firearms Corporation established a branch office at Hogue's facility in South Pasadena to manufactures revolvers chambered for .357 Magnum rounds (the first revolver produced by Colt). This move led to Colt establishing manufacturing operations throughout Southern California beginning with South Pasadena in 1968

In recent years, construction has begun on several new development projects including a large mixed use project known as "The Plant" located just east of I-5 near downtown Los Angeles; and another high-density development called "Hollywood West" set to be completed around 2020 near Hollywood Boulevard and Beverly Boulevard in Hollywood Hills). As more people move into South Pasadena for work or entertainment purposes (and away from Downtown), local businesses have seen their traffic numbers increase along with their profits accordingly. Today, South Park Elementary School serves students from pre-Kindergarten through eighth grade while Canoga Park Elementary School provides instruction from ninth through twelfth grades; both schools are located within walking distance of each other on Canoga Avenue between Lankershim Boulevard and Western Ave.. Additionally, both campuses offer participate programs that connect middle school students with various summer jobs throughout Southern California while also providing hands-on science experiences appropriate for 8th graders which can take place at either school during specific weeks each year depending upon weather conditions outside which offers an opportunity for kids who usually enroll in my classes this summer to actually do something different than learning about math

In 1892 Santiago Cana opened the first commercial store in South Pasadena when he opened Cana's Oriental Bazaar on Spring Street. The store quickly became known for its excellent selection of Japanese items and currently occupies an entire floor within the Weingarten Center for Shopping magna cum laude shopping mall downtown. During World War II, South Pasadena played a significant role as one of the largest manufacturing centers in Los Angeles County due to its proximity to various war-related production plants. Some notable products made here include aircraft parts, ammunition, tanks, shipsbuilding materials and more. After the war ended, South Pasadena experienced rapid growth thanks to new development around it such as Interstate 10 which served as both a bypass highway for southside residents during rush hour traffic backups caused by industry growth north of townline – still an issue today! In recent decades much economic activity has shifted away from downtown South Park towards newly developed areas such as Claremont Village Historic District along Claremont Avenue just east of I-10/US 101 interchange - making this once sleepy corner into one of LA’s most vibrant neighborhoods!
