In 1990, the Schultz's opened a second location in Ontario, CA which became known as the South Gate Armory. In 1998, Bud and Debbie were divorced and Debbie moved to Florida where she continues to work at Herstal Armory Inc. In 2003, Bud passed away from cancer but his wife Debbie continued business operations until her death in 2006. Today, South Gate Armory is run by their son Cody Schultz with assistance from their daughter Kelly Rowe.
South Gate, California is a city located in San Bernardino County, California. The population was 20,713 at the 2010 census. It lies on the eastern edge of the city of San Bernardino and is bordered by Interstate 15 to the north and east, and U.S. Route 395 to the south. South Gate was founded in 1887 as a small town on what is now Interstate 15 between San Bernardino and Riverside Counties. The name came from an old Spanish words meaning " gate" (southern) and " gate" (the border between two valleys). In 1915, when South Gate became part of San Bernardino County, it had a population just over 1,000 people; by 1920 it had grown to 10,000 residents. During World War II it served as an airbase for fighter planes flown by the United States Air Force during Operation Overlord; after the war it declined rapidly in population but continued growing in size until becoming one of North America's largest cities with over 100,000 residents by 1960. In recent years there has been growth again in SouthGate - reaching nearly 30% increase recorded since 2000 according to City-DataUSA estimates - although still well below LA’s 27%. Nevertheless –– despite this modest increase –– Southgate remains one of America’s most vibrant civic communities with strong community engagement opportunities for its citizens both inside and outside the city limits

South Gate is a city located in San Diego County, California. The population was 116,898 as of the 2010 census. It is part of the San Diego–Tijuana metropolitan area. South Gate was founded by European Americans in 1853 and became an incorporated town in 1912. It is adjacent to Tijuana on the south side of the county and to Otay Mesa on the north side. The original name for South Gate was Tejon Rancho de las Palmas, which means "place belonging to Palm Trees." In 1853, John Capps and his brother James purchased some land east of what is now South Gate from Manuel Nieto for $4 per acre (1/2 acre = $20). This purchase set off a series of land purchases by Capps and James that increased in value until they had acquired over 1/3rd of all remaining Mexican land west of Baja California. In 1857, another group including George Waddell bought property southeast of present-day Southgate from José Joaquin Miller for $6 per acre (1/2 acre = $30). John Capps’s nephew David Livingstone administered this new investment with help from his father-in-law, John Wesley Powell. The City Council named Livingstone Managerial District No. 2 on July 11, 1861 after he successfully lobbied for passage of a bill authorising annexation by San Diego into Imperial County due to its size and oil resources potential within minutes at one point during testimony before the state legislature; he also served as an election commissioner in 1870-71 under governor Pio Pico Hellyer's administration On December 5th 1862 William Halsey appointed Gouverneur Morris Acting Sheriff & Collector General for Los Angeles County when Don Francisco Alvarado resigned effective December 1st 1862 pursuant to orders from Governor Pio Pico Hellyer that no more sheriffalties be issued until further notice because excessive taxes were being assessed against citizens thereof without any justifiable cause given other than political bias or discrimination against certain classes or interests therein such as Anglo-American settlers who constituted over 50% of all taxpayers within Los Angeles County at that time...Morris quickly identified fraudulent practices being engaged in by several gentlemen licensed under license #1040 which were causing much anxiety among commissioners about public revenue collection...At various meeting held throughout January 1863 Morris attempted unsuccessfully to get action taken regarding this matter but failed each time due either to lack or unwilling participation from key appointees...Despite these difficulties Deputy Sheriff Don Carlos Mena assumed overall supervision duties during January 1863 following the departure of Acting Sheriff William Halsey On February 4th 1863 acting sheriff Don Carlos Mena resigned effective February 1st because he could not keep up with events leading up to the untimely death o Barnet Wells on February 3rd while fulfilling his duties as deputy sheriff concurrent with his role as collector general Porfirio Diaz took office on February 15th as governor pro tempore vowing To reform government with less patronage system etc.. He immediately established office inside old adobe jail located at 602 Conchita Street where he remained until May 24th 1865 when building permit #542 was issued authorizing erection of deemed necessary civic buildings including a hotel, library & school complex called Mission Plaza On October 26th 1865 porfirio Diaz announced via proclamation that Mexico would become an independent country under my rule therefore abolishing all laws and regulations made by Spain etc.. From then on everything would be done through Proclamation Order etc....This event marked beginning processof official separation between Mexico proper & Southern Californias [sic] which would last thru war era
The first permanent European settlement in the area was by José Gabriel Figueroa on December 17, 1821. The site of South Gate is now part of downtown San Bernardino.
