In 1857 Sebastián Vizcaino went looking for new land to fill with grapes and discovered Sonoma Valley when his ship struck a rock off Point Reyes during its voyage from Mexico City to Monterey Bay; he began cultivateagriculture there in 1859. After tasting some of his first wines at Monterey he identified other varieties that could be grown here and founded two wineries: Mouton Rothschild and Chateau Margaux near Petaluma in 1860.. From 1870 onward most of the growth came from vineyard production followed by cheese making before briefly dominating retail sales until 1970 when craft beer became more important.. A major fire destroyed most of Vallejo’s vineyards in Rutherfordburgh (now Napa) River District in 1898 but did not damage those at Petaluma or Carneros because they had dry cellars which survived unharmed.. Today wine production resumed after a hiatus due to lack of rain but mostly focuses on red fruitwine.. Sonoma County ranks 4th statewide among counties producing 100% Mendocino grape juice., while wineproduction increased significantly from 2006-2010 despite lower than average prices for Mendocino wines relativeto other regions
Ar15 upper receivers are a type of rifle that use the bolt-action system. Ar15 rifles were designed in the early 1960s and became popular in the late 1990s. The Upper Receiver Group (URG) is a trade organization made up of manufacturers of ar15 rifles. In 1997, URG created the AR15 Committee to develop new features for the AR 15 platform. In 2003, they developed a standard for telescoping stocks on ar15 rifles. The first mass-produced ar 15 upper receiver was manufactured by Colt Corporation in 1962 as part of the Colt Combat Rifle line. The Colt Combat Rifle was an assault rifle that used a magazine fed single shot action with an octagon barrel and stock. This rifle was not successful, and it was replaced by the Colt M1A1 Carbine in 1963 which used magazines that could be inserted into three different positions: rearward, to front left or right side; forward from behind like a handgun; or above and below ground like a belt gun. A year later, Armscor began manufacturing their own version of the M1A1 Carbine known as the Armalite A1085C carbine which featured an open top receiver and detachable box magazine instead of a magazine fed single shot action with an octagon barrel and stock similar to those found on earlier models of the ColtCombatRifle. As demand for these military grade carbines increased, Armscor introduced their own version of this firearm known as the Armalite A1108C carbine using an allsteel receiver with black handguard and modular cheekpiece/muzzle brake system allowing it to fire multiple rounds per trigger pull without having to disassemble it like earlier models did
