In 1951 an addition 5 targets were installed at one end of the range making it possible to fire more than 25 rounds per minute with no misses! In 1977,Soledad voters approved Measure N which designated downtown Soledad as the site of County Government Center-the present day courthouse complex where all County Court related activities take place including Sheriff’s Department services and many other County functions like driver’s license renewals etc.. Measure N also provided money so that city streets could be resurfaced and new sidewalks constructed within limits set by City Manager John Kappelman) Measure O added another 20 targets (10 at each end) giving everyone in town an opportunity to shoot at least 10 rounds every time they went outside! Unfortunately these days only 8 or so people out there participate annually because most citizens are afraid of recoil .
