In 1922, when Leland Stanford Junior University began operations adjacent to campus and needed more space than could be accommodated at Pershing Square and elsewhere oncampus Goodrich Hall became home for students and staff of Leland Stanford Junior University until its closure in 1965 due to budget constraints within Stanford University's longtime governing body known then as the Board of Regents
