In order to avoid these accidents, municipalities began To ban bicycles at certain times or places while traffic was lightest so riders could get across safely without getting run down or involved in traffic accidents themselves. Despite these precautions, accidents still occur; however they are much less common now than they were previously. One reason for this is because bikes have become smaller and easierto ride compared to previous forms of transportation such as cars or buses. Additionally, bikes are often ridden by children who are not yet ableto walk properly; therefore bike crashes do not result in serious injury as often as when drivers hit bicyclists with regular vehicles

The early history of Selma can be traced back to 1837 when General Tom Bradley moved his army from Stockton to this site after defeating Mexican forces at Buena Vista Creek Bridge. The town was founded as a cattle ranching community by Americans Orville and Marion Wright, who named it for Brigadier General John Crayford, commander of the Third Infantry Division during the Mexican–American War. Starting in 1903, Selma became an agricultural center with cotton being grown and processed there until World War II when its production shifted to munitions and manufacturing products such as airplane parts. Afterward, Selma entered an era of rapid growth that included becoming one of the most diverse cities in America with many different cultures represented through its various Ethnic Communities programs which were developed to encourage assimilation into American society among African Americans; Asians; Latinos; Native Americans; and Europeans (mostly Italians). These programs helped create what has been called "America's melting pot." After years of struggle against discrimination by police officers and other citizens alike, Negro violence reached an all-time high during the 1960s under Mayor Roydate Harper Sr., culminating in a violent riot on July 5th that left four people dead and dozens injured including six officers involved in using tear gas canisters against unarmed demonstrators marching down Market Street toward City Hall demanding equality before law enforcement officials had ever touched them! From these riots came public outcry for changes throughout municipal government throughout Southern California generally led by then Governor Jerry Brown but also starting here within Selmas city hall beginning with Mayor Harper himself leading efforts to improve conditions for black residents living within white suburbs across southern Los Angeles County along with Rev Dr King’s3 support which went beyond simply speaking out or even writing letters or making speeches however much they may have wanted or needed help! This began what would come to be known as "The Movement"4and marked a turning point not only nationally but also locally where things started moving more progressively towards equality both within Selma itself as well as throughout our county overall! In fact many people still refer to this period herein as “The Good Times”5due largely theretofore having been overshadowed by more negative headlines surrounding race relations elsewhere across Southern California during these years! However due primarily too continued opposition from some quarters within our communitylargely those associated with organized crime elements who saw this movement not just as another opportunity to gain power & wealth but instead something that could potentially Challenges their grip on control over local government we slowly but surely began seeing progress begin happening againalbeit often whisperings & whispers long before anyone actually made any real moves! Although some good did happen during this time such as increasing access education opportunities for all regardless regardlessRace& ethnicity while others such as creating jobs right here right now right here in Selma thanks largely too increased development around town thru private businesses & entrepreneurs rather then large institutional interests& organizations6still remain numerous areas wherein progress needs continuing albeit modestly at least given current circumstances

Hominins like Homo erectus began to develop more advanced technology such as tools and transportation which led them to Spread out into different parts of the world. In Asia, there was another species of human known as the Japhethian which lived between 25-20 mya. They too developed advanced technologies such as spears and boats that allowed them to expand their territory and conquer new areas. In Europe, we first encounter bipedal humans around 10 mya when they start using stone tools called Concave Points found at sites such as Acheulan (near Damascus), Levalloisienne ( southwestern France), Neolithic sites in Britain, Ireland, Denmark, Sweden etc., etc.. These rocks are some of the earliest examples of tool use in history! During this time period, different groups of people started moving across different continents starting with huntergatherers who wandered around North America for tens of thousands of years before settling down in certain areas such as Siberia and Canada. Then followed pastoralists who roamed throughout Eurasia looking for new land opportunities that would offer better grazing grounds for their animals but also provided access to resources like waterfalls and mineral deposits that could be sold/ traded back home. Finally came agriculturalists who settled down in specific regions like China, India etc., where they started cultivating plants and raising livestock which eventually led to more complex societies with more political power structures than what was seen earlier among these groups!

The first post office in Selma was established on March 3, 1872. The first store in Selma opened its doors on October 1, 1873. At that time, it was only a rural community with few residents. However, over time Selma's growth has been steady and impressive. The city of Selma was incorporated on July 29, 1913. On December 17 of the same year, the first public schools were opened in Selma by superintendent Augustus Quesada. A new courthouse and jail were built in 1915-1916 while a new hospital and library were constructed in 1923-1924. One of the most significant events to take place duringSelmas early years was the April 6th Movement which started as a peaceful protest against segregated bus transportation systems within town limits but quickly became more violent as it escalated throughout the night into what would become known as Black Saturday (April 6-8). Tens of thousands of African American citizens across Southern California participated in what is considered one of historys largest civil rights protests at that time; resulting in hundreds arrests and many injuries along with some near success when buses finally stopped running statewide that morning due to Governor Earl Warren's order mandating desegregation
