Scotts Valley is a town in San Bernardino County, California, United States. The population was 7,711 at the 2010 census. It is located east of West Covina and south of Cathedral City. Scotts Valley was founded in 1887 by Homan Goldsmiths as Scotts Valley Mines. The name originated from the fact that gold had been found there earlier than elsewhere in San Bernardino County. In 1892, the Mines and Mining Company merged with other mining companies to create the National Consolidated Copper Company which became Copper State Mining and Smelting Company after it acquired other American mining interests throughout 1904-1909. With its new ownership came new development including Scotts Valley High School (founded 1916), two golf courses (TPC Forest Hills and TPC Chaparral), a library (1896), a post office (1898), an agricultural fairgrounds (1910) and several small businesses such as Waddell's grocery store (1914). The high school closed in 1984 but reopened as West Covina High School under new leadership in 2006. The Agricultural Fairgrounds closed in 1990 but reopened as Villa Park Agricultural Center in 2006 which served as an agricultural research center until it closed again in 2011 due to lack of funding; however, it was later renovated into a hotel and restaurant complex called "Villa Park Marketplace". In 1992, residents voted to change their name to Scotts Valley Village because they wanted more traditional values associated with their community instead of liberalism found within neighboring towns such as West Covina or Cathedral City. A referendum on the issue took place on November 3rd, 1992 with over 90% voting against changing their name to Scotts Valley Village without consulting the public first; however, despite this setback, villagers continued to promote themselves as “the Villages” even after becoming part of San Bernardino County. In January 2006, voters passed Measure M1 which raised $8 million for infrastructure upgrades including road repairs totaling $40 million over 10 years along with land purchases for future village developments totaling . This project was also known as "Village Roads", "Village Expressways" or simply "Roads". This saw the opening of two parallel arterial streets running through Scotts Valley - PCH 4th Street running north-south while SR 91 runs east-west - both bearing namesakes of originalvillagers: Homan Goldsmiths Boulevard ran perpendicular to I-5 just outside downtown while Lombard Avenue ran parallel across SR 91 near Highland Ranch before terminating at Academy Road near Villa Park Play ground - both named after early pioneers who helped establish Scott'sValley community: Homan Goldsmiths Boulevard today serves as Main Street while Lombard Avenue now runs concurrently alongside I-5 within Downtown ScottsValley while Highland Ranch becomes home to numerous upscale homes located on large tracts of undeveloped land surrounding its residential neighborhoods today known collectively as 'Old Town' inside Downtown ScottsValley boundaries where Museum Row once stood prior to being absorbed into newer Development around Villa Park Shopping mall recently renamed 'Westfield'. As one result of this project multiple intersections were upgraded including PCH 4th Street & SR 91 interchange becoming full grade separated with turn lanes/

Scotts Valley is a small agricultural town located in Kern County, California. The town was founded in 1887 by Scotsmen who immigrated to the United States from Scotland. Scotts Valley is named after Colonel John Scott of the United States Army's 1st Infantry Regiment who fought in the Mexican-American War and later served as Governor of California. Today, Scotts Valley is a bedroom community for the nearby city of Kernville. The first settlers to Scotts Valley arrived in 1887, when Scottish immigrants James and Martha Macdonald settled on land that now includes parts of Scotts Valley and adjoining areas of what is now Bakersfield. In 1889, Scotsman George Thomson erected the first sawmill in Scotts Valley, which became one of the largest mills in Kern County. By 1916, there were 10 mills in Scott's Valleys operation with a total capacity of 2 million square feet (120 hectares) at its peak. In 1923, President Warren G. Harding announced that he would seek re-election without receiving enough votes from California's southern counties which made up his political base. To prevent Harding from becoming president despite losing key states such as New Mexico and Oregon, Republican candidate Adolph Ziegler ordered his campaign manager to travel to Kern County and vote at local polling places across the state on November 3rd instead. Although Ziegler lost all but two of these polls (in Stockton and Chico), he still achieved national attention due to his efforts to suppress voting rights among minority groups throughout California. As a result of this election victory over Democratic candidate Al Capone, Ziegler was given control over much of Republican Party power within California during his term as governor from 1926 until 1941). In 1936, American banker Jock Mahoney purchased an interest in The Irvine Company which controlled much valuable real estate throughout Southern California including most notably Rancho Mirage near Palm Springs where he built his massive home known today as Mount Wilson Heights . WithMahoney's purchase came new impetus for development within Scotts Valley with many entrepreneurs eager to capitalize on their holdings within The Irvine Company . One such entrepreneur was Jack McIntyre whose company manufactured vacuum cleaners prioritizing efficiency over beauty or design . McIntyre quickly gained notoriety for developing innovative products that revolutionized home cleaning techniques while also creating demand for his services outside of Scott's Valleys boundaries . By 1940, McIntyre had developed into one of Orange County’s leading businessman while also building influential relationships within both Hollywood and government circles
