Scotts Valley, California is an unincorporated community located in San Bernardino County, California. It lies on the east side of the San Andreas Fault and straddles the border between San Bernardino and Riverside Counties. The community is also bounded by Gaviota Mesa to the north, Big Sur to the east, and Tujunga Canyon to the south. The area that now Scotts Valley was first settled by Ohlone people in what is now Orange County in 1769. They named their settlement after Sir William Scott who had built a small fort at Point Mugu in 1768. By 1800, most of what is now Scotts Valley had been surveyed and platted as part of Rancho Verde Mexican land grant which became part of United States territory following Mexican independence from Spain in 1821. In 1881, Scotts Valley was incorporated as a town within San Bernardino County. After years of growth and development, it reached its peak during World War II with many businesses being constructed within the town limits including Boeing Aircraft Production Plant #1 (1941-1945), Lockheed Martin Aircraft Plant #2 (1946-1949), and McDonnell Aircraft Manufacturing Plant #3 (1950-1957). However, during the postwar period much commerce moved away from Scotts Valley due to difficult economic times throughout Southern California. Today there are only a few remaining businesses remain within town limits such as The Westernmost Emporium (now closed) which used to be located on Main Street; Golden Nugget Casino & Resort which opened in 2002; and Jardine's seafood restaurant which opened in 1966 but closed down in 2003. Although many businesses have closed over time, Scott's Valleys unique history will continue to be remembered for its rich cultural heritage including art galleries that are still open today such as Claremont Museum of Art; actors/director/performers who have performed here such as Bob Hope Airport Players Touring Company; music festivals held here such as Sonoma International Jazz Festival; outdoor concerts held here annually such as Rolling Thunder performances at Redwoods National Park

They were nicknamed “Tommy guns” because they looked like traditional firearms but they were not actually regulated as firearms until 1934. During World War II, many countries made efforts to produce rifles using gasoline-fired ammunition instead of muzzle-loading powder weapons. The Japanese Far East Air Force is famous for their usage of these types of guns during World War II, particularly against American forces on Iwo Jima and Okinawa Island . In 1945, Japan surrendered and all its aircraft were destroyed, including some large numbers of vintage gasoline-fired airplanes which remain preserved at Yasujima Naval Air Museum in Japan

In 1846, John Sutter founded his new colony of Suttersville in present-day Fremont County near what is now Scotts Valley. The first post office in Scotts Valley was established in 1851. From 1861 to 1865, it was called Mechanicsburg because many of the early settlers were mechanics who had moved from Pennsylvania. Over time, most of the buildings and businesses in Scott's valley were destroyed by fire or earthquake; however, some remain such as the Pioneers' Museum (built 1907), which houses artifacts from various pioneer families who lived in and around Scotts Valley during that time period. In 1906, railroad magnate Leland Stanford bought much of Rancho Santa Clara land east of Scotts Valley for $2 million dollars; he then donated it to the city of San Francisco to create Stanfords Parkland neighborhood on top of what would later become Stanford University and other university-related properties nearby. In 1947–48,CHIBA Inc., a Japanese American business firm operating out of Sunnyvale (then part of Palo Alto) built a large office complex known as "The Towers". Many prominent Silicon Valley entrepreneurs attended this corporate event including Steve Jobs and Larry Ellison. The company vacated their building after two years due to increased housing costs within walking distance from their original site on Allston Avenue near Emerson College campus (now UC Berkeley). Today's single family homes are popular among Silicon Valley engineers and tech billionaires alike because they are close to public transportation options with easy access to downtown San Francisco or Palo Alto Junction BART station; also nearby are many small shopping malls with upscale stores such as Macy's and Sears as well as several parks like Tiburon Peninsula Regional Open Space Preserve that offer excellent views across urban areas into Marin County beyond while still remaining within walking distance to all types
