The Saratoga community of over 25,000 people is home to one of the most diverse and vibrant scopes communities in the United States. The community has a rich history dating back to 1876 when two men, Hiram Maxim and Isaac Campbell, founded the first American telescope company at Saratoga Springs. Over time, other companies have joined them in making scopes available to the public. In 1976, SARATOGA SCOPE COMPANY was re-founded as a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving and promoting telescope culture and research throughout California. Today, SARATOGA SCOPE COMPANY operates three telescopes located in Saratoga: the 14 inch Schmidt-Cassegrain Telescope (SC2), which replaced an old 4 inch reflector; the 50 inch Celestron Eltahyptian Astrograph Telescope (CET1); and the new 100 inch Schmidt-Cassegrain Telescope (SC4). All three telescopes are used for scientific research by staff members from many different institutions across California. The primary focus of SARATOGA SCOPE COMPANY today is maintaining these three telescopes as well as providing education about telescope culture and research through tours and exhibits at their facilities around town. Additionally, SARATOGA SCOPE COMPANY partners with local organizations who offer free or discounted tickets to events held at their facilities. These events include monthly open houses where visitors can tour the facility, view equipment mounted on display cases, listen to lectures about astronomy from scientists working at SARATOGA SCOPE COMPANY, see posters describing recent astronomical discoveries made by members of staff at SARATOGA SCOPE COMPANY, take part in robotics demonstrations using state-of-the art optics systems housed on campus.,and more. Saratoga has been a center for astronomical research for centuries and has been host to many important meetings related to Astronomy including: COPERS Meeting (1875), ASAS/NRA meeting (1930) & IAU Planetary Congresses 1942-1945 In 1876 Hiram Maxim founded American Scope Company while Sometime after that he bought land next door on which they built their second factory(this company still exists today). American Scope Company made both reflecting mirrors(4INCH refractor)& large aperture telescopes like this one called "Monitor" which weighed 10 tons but it could be moved! This UNIT WAS USED TO WATCH THE MOON! It's said that you could look thru it's eyepiece & know what side of Earth it was on! With all this technology going into making Telescopes then we can only imagine how inaccurate those early designs were? How did we get here since these days so many Telescopes are being produced? Well let's take a look back through History shall we? On July 3rd 1870 Charles Townshend heard about a man named George Washington who had lost his Eye due To A big burst From A cannonball he happened To shoot whilst aiming Through His scope! He claimed he saw Bodies all Around him Including People In Armour And He Called It A lucky shot! We now know that This Man was actually taking pictures Of War Scenes Which Were Being Manned Out By Officers As They Went About Their Business! Charles Townshend donated $5000 To George Washington For His Eye Restoration Back In 1878 So We Can Now thanks To Him For starting The Observation Movement In America!!!!!! What an amazing journey our country has taken!!!

Saratoga, California is a city in San Joaquin County, California. The population was 137,815 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of San Joaquin County and is located on the banks of the Susquehanna River. The first Europeans to visit Saratoga were Spanish soldiers who left Monterey Bay in 1769 for what they thought was an expedition against Santa Cruz Island. They did not realize that Santa Cruz Island was part of present-day California and only arrived there at night on September 13th. Upon landing they built an igloo nearpresent-day downtown Saratoga and named it "Santa Clara". This name has been used ever since by the town's citizens until recently when it was changed to honor General John Custer's battle with Sitting Bull at Little Bighorn during the 1876 US Centennial Exhibition in Chicago. The first real settlement occurred around 1800 when Nicholas Fenton erected a cabin on what is now North Main Street. A post office called "Fenton" was established in 1806, but no trace remains of this original establishment today. In 1827, two brothers, John Hogg and George Rogers donated land for a Town Hall which would later become known as Saratoga Springs Hotel & Spa (now known as Radisson Blu). A second post office called "Saratoga"was established in 1828 but no trace remains of this original establishment today either. By 1830, however, all evidence suggests that a village had already formed around what is now North Main Street due to heavy trade between Erie and Williamsburg counties along the Susquehanna River; this traffic led to increased development west of Market Street including many taverns which remain active into today’s day such as The Gilded Cage (now known as The Park Place), Netherland Tavern (now known as Dutch Bros.), Albany Brewery (now defunct), Golden Goose public house (now defunct) and many more! In 1832 local resident James Kapp donation of land east of present-day Broadway became Enchanted Garden Racetrack which would later host America’s first international fairground - Worlds Fair - from 1893 through 1915! In 1840 entrepreneur Jameson Mott founded Waynesville Railroad Company transporting goods upriver from Canandaigua over same route where Sarataga Post Office currently stands – still one of Saratoga’s most popular tourist attractions! He also donated land nearby for use as a depot and millrace leading into the river below present-day South Elmhurst Avenue/Broadway! Two years later another early adopter – William Burtis – donated his lands north off Market Street just beyond present day White Water Lake for an agricultural college he hoped to establish opposite modern day Alpine College! However despite initial success his college failed within six months due mainly to lack of support from wealthy donors!! By 1850 all indications suggest that Saratoga had reached its heyday with numerous businesses dotting every inch streetscape including 3 churches (Methodist Episcopal Church on Elmhurst Avenue NW; Presbyterian Church on State Route 12; Baptist Church next door); several stores/taverns; 2 schools: one public school operated by subscription only while other schools were operated by private individuals or organizations including 1 academy destined towards becoming “the University Of America”!!! One can easily forget all that exists outside downtown area bounded by North Main Street south down Elmhurst Ave./Broadway east down Academy Road then north back up Maple Ave./Euclid Road etc!!! Scopes have been part of humanity for centuries and their history can be traced back to the 6th century AD. The first scopes were made from wood and glass, but by the 14th century, scopes had become more sophisticated with metal frames and lenses. In 1541, Galileo Galilei developed a telescope that could be used to see things that were too small to be seen with a simple vision device such as a human eye. This invention allowed people to study the universe much further than they ever could before. The 18th and 19th century saw some great advances in scopes technology, including improvements in optics, materials and construction. By the early 20th century, however, there was still much work left to be done in order to perfect scoped technology. One of the most important developments during this time was the development of digitalscopes which allow users to watch movies or videos on a computer screen while they are located outside of range of an optical scope.
In 1909, the first modern day scopes were invented by an American astronomer, Samuel P. Morgan. The Morgan telescope was designed to be able to resolve objects up to about 100 miles away and it was very successful. It was also the first telescope to be used for astronomy research.
The Saratoga Peninsula is located in western California, and it is one of the most famous wine regions in the country. The peninsula was first settled by the Ohlone people in about 1250 A.D. The first Europeans to visit Saratoga Lake were Juan Rodríguez Cabrillo and his group of Spanish explorers on July 24, 1542. After landing at what is now known as Point Reyes Station, Cabrillo explored the bay and its surrounding area for several weeks before sailing back to San Francisco with charts that he had made himself from his observations of the bay. In 1602, Englishman John Hawkins discovered and named Santa Barbara Island after Lord Admiral Richard Hawkins (died 1628). The name stuck and a small town developed on Santa Barbara Island - part of which still exists today - while other parts of the island were acquired by various European countries over time. During World War II, many American troops who had fought in Europe landed on or near Santa Barbara Island during Operation Neptune's Spear; however, no fighting took place because most of these troops were evacuated prior to hostilities breaking out. In 1846, George Custer was killed during an engagement with Native Americans near Saginaw Valley Junction; subsequent reports stated that he was either shot through the heart or decapitated due to an arrow strike from behind. As a result of this event, relatively little attention was given to wagon tracks leading northwest from Saginaw Valley Junction towards Saratoga Springs until 1857 when a traveler named Horace Greeley wrote about them under the headline "Saratoga Trail." On September 9-10th of that year, representatives from twenty-seven different states convened at Fort Laramie in Wyoming for the purpose of conferring upon measures relating thereto...It has been generally supposed that General Crook led those pioneers who followed him into battle at Washoe Creek…. This company would later become the China National Electricity Corporation. The town suffered greatly during World War II when Nazi soldiers burned down many of its homes and businesses. However, following the war, Saratoga regained its former prosperity as a manufacturing and commercial center. Today, Sarataga is known for its excellent winegrowing industry and its annual wine festival which attracts some of the best winemakers in the world
