Santee, California is a small town located in the Mojave Desert of Southern California. The population was 2,627 at the 2010 census. It is part of the San Bernardino County region and straddles the border between Riverside and San Bernardino counties. The first people to arrive in Santee were Mexicans who came looking for land to farm. They built their homes on top of small hills near present-day Santee Lake. In 1869, José Francisco Martinez founded a post office in what is now Santee and began issuing postage stamps from his home. A year later, he added an extra letter to help promote trade with other parts of California. In 1872, Charles Goodyear established a mine in Santee and started issuing money orders for goods sent back east. By 1880, there were several businesses operating in Santee: a store, a blacksmith shop, an opera house, and two hotels (the Masonic Hall and the Fairmont). The early settlers developed a strong local economy based on agriculture, fishing, mining (especially silver), lumbering (including building creekside homes out of logs),and hunting services provided by ranch hands or professionals like Charles Goodyear himself. The most important crops grown here were potatoes and watermelons; but because they grew slowly it wasn’t until after World War II that these vegetables became widely available throughout Southern California as exports from SantEE increased significantly during the postwar period due to rising prices for imported produce caused by difficult economic conditions throughout much of Europe following World War II) The post office closed in 1951 when ZIP code 76086 was assigned to Santa Ana instead due to its larger population size combined with easier access to mail service within Santa Ana County through Orange County's newly constructed Interstate 5 Freeway system which opened up all rural areas outside Los Angeles County
In the early 1800s, Americans were fascinated by firearms. Many of these firearms were designed for military use and became known as “firearms t-shirts”. The first firearms t-shirts were created in 1852 by a man named John Fitch. The designs featured images of pistols, rifles, and shotguns with the phrase “Firearm is both protection and pleasure” printed on them. By 1861, there was a large demand for these shirts and manufacturers began to produce them specifically for the military. These products became known as “ rifle shirts” because they typically featured gun racks or stocks on the front panel in order to represent a firearm in the real world. The popularity of firearms t-shirts declined after World War II due to several factors such as stricter limitations on what could be sold to civilians under the Second Amendment of the United States Constitution. However, this does not mean that these products never enjoyed a resurgence during later years. For example, in 1984, an NRA town hall meeting coincided with National Rifle Association summertimeshirt sales and features included items featuring firearms such as AR15 assault rifles and 1911 handguns! This event helped bring attention to firearm safety issues once again and may have contributed to increased sales over time

The Santee River has been a defining factor in California's history. The Santee Valley, which straddles the river on its eastern side, was founded by Spanish colonists in 1769. In 1849, the United States acquired California from Mexico and as part of that deal, the US agreed to sell land along the Santee River to American settlers. The first group of Americans to arrive in what is now San Diego County were Mormon pioneers who came via the Santa Fe Trail in 1846. By 1850, there were over 100 people living near where the river bends today just east of modern-day Santee. Over time, more settlers came and development took place around the bend; by 1870, it had become an incorporated town. In 1876, a devastating fire destroyed most of San Francisco and much of Northern California; within a few years after that fire, many American towns were built up along or near rivers like the Santa Fe and Sacramento Trails. The Santee Valley became one of these new areas because it was known for its fertile soil and lack of mountains; crops such as wheat and rice were grown here until about 1925 when ranching began to take hold and agriculture became more important than growing crops. During World War II (1939-1945), local industries helped support military recruitment in Southern California through manufacturing jobs at naval yards and shipyards across town from downtown Los Angeles. Afterward, several small businesses thrived thanks to tourism during post-war boom years (the early 1960s through 1990s). However, with increased traffic congestion throughout LAPA County – resulting from rapid population growth – agricultural production faded away beginning in 2000 while other sectors have taken their place including professional services (lawyers/paralegals), tech companies (including Googleplex), healthcare (such as Kaiser Permanente) and retail stores like Macy’s Bloomingdale’s department store being replaced by high-end housing developments like Regency Village Mall which anchors Downtown LA Today's downtown LA may be different but its roots date back over 400 years!
The first Europeans to visit Santee were Spanish missionaries in 1769. The area was part of Rancho San Buenaventura, which was granted to Juan Rodríguez de Alvarado in 1776. It was parcelized by the Mexican government in 1821, and part of the Rancho Santa Fe del Norte. In 1862, a group of Englishmen founded the town of Petaluma on the north side of the Sacramento River. They named it after their county home in England, Petaluma. The town grew rapidly, and by 1870 it had a population of 571 people. On July 16, 1872, Santee became an incorporated city with its own mayor and council.
