On July 4th, 1825 Ulysses S Grant granted Mooney’s claim to him (granted under the terms of Treaty #1825) making it one of only two Ulysses S Grant claims ever to be honored with Ulysses S Grant citizenship award! The first post office in SantEE was established on January 10th, 1909 when mail was transported from La Honda through Ukiah overland route then stopped at Pescadero Ferry across Strait of Magellan before continuing southeastward along Hwy 101 into Mendocino County past present day Sonoma Valley With its growth came increases in population density making some decisions made about who would have jurisdiction over what areas such as fire protection or school services; however all residents are ultimately subject to city code ordinances and vote upon changes thereto including zoning ordinances enacted by city council members who are elected at large not partisanly but instead serve staggered 3 year terms beginning with the November election each year like other municipalities throughout Northern California . In 1940 SantEE had a population exceeding 2200 people with only 6 businesses employing less than 20 employees
