The Santa Maria Rifle and Pistol Club was formed in 1892. The club's first rifle was a Model 1861 Springfield Armory deer model. The club has since organized several rifles, pistols, shotguns, and muzzleloaders. In 1916 the club purchased a Dillon Repeating Arms Co., Model 1904 action rifle which has been used by the club ever since. In 1934 the Santa Maria Rifle and Pistol Club became a non-profit organization with an aim to keep firearms in good condition through monthly repairs and maintenance along with providing shooting opportunities for members of all ages. The club now oversees one of the largest pistol ranges in Southern California with over 21 acres of firing areas including 3 ranges for handguns (9mm Beretta, 9mm Glock, .40 S&W), rifles (Dillon Rifles) and shotguns ( Mossberg Shotguns). annual dues are $35 for adults or $20 for children 12 years old or younger

In 1846, followingMexican independence from Spain, rancho grants were issued for more than 120 miles (193 km) along the coast including what is now SantaMaria; these became townships until 1861 when they became counties based on population size instead of ranch hands’ holdings which had expired at death or sale). On December 5th 1889 Don José de la Peña y Pacheco bought Rancho Las Encinas about 3 miles east-northeast of downtown Santa Maria from Manuel Nieto for $5 per acre ($140/km²). On January 1st 1907, as part of that same year's incorporation process, voters approved adding Albuquerque Street between First Street and Third Avenue to becomeタワード・ミスターストリート（Albuquerque Boulevard）and named it after then-Governor Hiram Johnson’s wife Juana López de Portilla y Prado who also donated land for the street’s alignment. After two years construction began on Los Angeles Boulevard which crossed Amtrak tracks just eastofpresent day Main Street near El Toro Blvd., becoming first road ever built through hereabouts before being turned around and routed south just beyond today's old high school boundaries into what is now Pasadena streetscape without ever reaching downtown Santa Maria!

The history of Santa Maria began with Spanish missionaries who arrived in 1769 and named it San Miguel de Allende after their patron saint, Saint Michael. In 1853, Mexican American settlers founded what would become SantaMaria when they moved from Tulare County to central California because they were persecuted there for being Latino and Catholic. By 1875, most of the Mexican Americans had died from disease or violence while others had emigrated to other parts of America. In 1903, when San Francisco annexed portions of Tulare and Kern counties into its jurisdiction, it merged these two townships into one municipality called "SantaMaria". As part of this merger process, the City Council determined that there should be a name change for the new municipality since both townships were known primarily as "Tulare" and "Kern". A poll revealed that nearly two-thirds of residents wanted to call their new community "Santamaria." In 1916 local labor organizer Emilio Zapata organized a strike against pro-business owners in the city limits during his failed Pueblo Rebellion campaign against Porfirio Diaz dictatorship in Mexico City. This event is generally considered to have started SantaMaria's present-day prosperity as businesspeople fled Downtown Mexico City during Diaz's crackdown on opposition movements across Latin America resulting in mass layoffs throughout Northeastern MexicoCity including much rural poverty which also contributed to social unrest culminating with Zapata's death at hands of state forces later that year at age 26 following months long peaceful resistance campaign inside Mexico City while suffering through torture at hands not only fromstate security forces but also members & family members within his own home turned colectivo government forces loyal to Diaz himself.. Many people associated with #NomuraColectiva who did not participate in or support Zapata's uprising go onto lead powerful business empires starting right after WWII especially some very wealthy businessmen such as José Joaquin Roque Márquez y Uribe Soon afterwards many prominent Filadelfian journalists came out openly against military dictatorship & political repression becoming Americas first journalistic whistleblowers eventually leading to major prosecutions
The town of Santa Maria was founded in 1847 by Mormon pioneers on the east side of the San Gabriel Mountains. The townspeople named their new settlement after Saint Mary, the mother of Jesus. The first post office was established in 1850, and the first store opened in 1853. In 1868, a church was built in Santa Maria and it is still used today. The town grew rapidly during the late 1800s and early 1900s, thanks to its location on a major railroad line and its status as a bedroom community for Los Angeles. By 1910, Santa Maria had a population of over 12,000 people. However, World War I interrupted the growth of Santa Maria until 1920 when it again experienced rapid growth due to new construction and employment opportunities within Los Angeles. During World War II, Santa Maria played an important role as an airfield for Allied fighter planes fighting in California’s war effort. After the war ended, economic conditions declined throughout much of California during the 1950s and 1960s as dependency on government support increased.
