In 1892, a man named George Wessels started a business called Wessel's Lube in Santa Fe Springs. In 1916, the company was renamed Wesson & Sons and continued to operate until it merged with another local lube company in 1952.
Santa Fe Springs, California is a small city in the San Gabriel Valley of Los Angeles County, California. It is located on the eastern edge of the city of Pasadena and is bordered by Bell Gardens to the northwest and Westwood to the southeast. The population was 19,130 at the 2010 census. The first Europeans to settle in Santa Fe Springs were Anglo-Americans who arrived during 1855–1856 as part of Rancho La Brea Mission (now University City). They built a log cabin known as White Sands Station on what is now northbound I-10 near present day Hill Street. The mission was abandoned in 1866 due to conflicts with settlers nearby over grazing rights and other issues. In 1870, two brothers named George Wagoner founded Wagoner & Company grocery store and post office in downtown Santa Fe Springs. This became one of Santa Fe's most important businesses until it closed its doors in 1922. In 1907, American businessman Edward Jablonski purchased land east of downtown from rancher John Fournier for $1 million dollars. He began developing what would become known as "The Strip" which included many high-endresidential homes including The Beverly Hills Hotel and The Ritz Carlton Hotel. In 1928, he donated all but 8 acres (3 km²) of his strip property to the City of Pasadena for use as open space. Today that parcel forms central Park Boulevard across from Pasadena City Hall which includes a replica of Jablonski's 1893 old Spanish mission tower that still stands today

Santa Fe Springs is a city in San Bernardino County, California. The population was 33,898 at the 2010 census. Santa Fe Springs was incorporated on December 9, 1912. The city is named after Santa Fe Province in New Mexico. The economy of Santa Fe Springs is based largely on retail trade and services. In 2000, the city ranked as the second most diverse place in America with over 190 different cultures represented. As of 2009, nearly one-third of the workforce employed in the city are immigrants or their descendants born in countries other than the United States. In 1867, Spanish settlers arrived in what is now Santa Fe Springs and founded Mission San José de Guadalupe Adobe and Mission Concepcion de la Purísima Concepción de la Purísima Franciscan Convent (now part of saint John's University). A post office called Rancho Californios was established at what is now downtown Santa Fe Springs on November 15, 1871 by Elias Dominguez from Pueblo Los Angeles undercutting an earlier Mexican grant for Rancho San Francisco del Oro which had been given to Juan Alvarado by Governor Manuel Micheltorena on September 6th that year. This rancho became part of section 965 of Rancho Cahuilla land grants granted February 17th 1875 to Don Francisco Lopez y Becerra following his victory over Santiago Cabrera at Zacatepec during the Bear Flag rebellion on February 14th 1874; this rancho became part of section 131st Mario Flores grant received January 10th 1902 from President George Washington Taft via Juana Maria Hidalgo through her husband José Cornelio Escobar y Costilla following their marriage October 12th 1901. It should be noted that while Rancho Californios lay within sections 965 and 131st Mario Flores grants originally received from President George Washington TaftviaJuana Maria Hidalgo through her husband Jose Cornelio Escobar y Costilla following their marriage October 12th 1901 - it should not be confused with later re-grantee Rancho Californios #9145 awarded November 15, 1912 to James Ralston Simons from Orange County as a result of his merger with two other ranchos associated with Simons: Rancho Sinaloa #9145 & Rancho Ojai #9224 both located east side OF section 132nd Anthony Mesa . The original Spanish colonists in the area named Santa Fe Springs after Saint Francis of Assisi. The name was anglicized to Santa Fe in 1819 by Major George Fenton, who served as British military governor of New Mexico during the Mexican-American War. Spanish Governor Manuel Armijo changed the spelling to "Santafé" in 1836, and it remained that way until about 1860 when it became known as "Santa Fe Springs." In 1871, a group of American settlers arrived at SantaFe Springs and founded what is now Southern California's first town - Angels Camp. The town grew rapidly due to its location and natural resources; many businesses were established here including a sawmill, hotel and agricultural production. In 1912, the city limits were expanded northward to include present day Claremont Village which lies within today's downtown SantaFe Springs boundaries. In 1924, following passage of the federal income tax law called “The Gilded Age Tax Act” (13 U.S.C.) by President Warren Harding, much development took place around SantaFe Springs with new shopping malls being built such as City Hall Plaza and Highland Park Mall. This period includes some of the most significant architecture along Main Street in downtownSantaFeSprings including Beaux Arts style buildings erected during this time such as First National Bank Building (now part of Macy's department store), Hotel de Anahuac (later known as La Casa Blanca) and North Avenue Presbyterian Church located on North Avenue just south of Main Street between Third Street and Fourth Street - one of only a few remaining examples from this era still standing today! After World War II ended there was an increase in population growth throughout southern California due to postwar baby boomers seeking affordable housing west of Interstate 5 – which led to increased traffic congestion on Main Street leading up into downtown Santa Fe Springs where much redevelopment has taken place over recent decades including an agreement for Cicero Hills Shopping Center which will be situated adjacent to One County Plaza Shopping Center across from IMAX Theatre District – one of only two major developments located within Downtown SantaFeSprings since its inception!
