La Jolla Park served as both commercial and residential areas for many years before it was closed off to the public in 1986 for environmental reasons. In 1992, Lasky donated his entire holdings including rancho la jolla park to the City of San Diego for use as open space

They built a large square tower that still stands today along Elm Street near Railroad Avenue. In 1916, Mayor James Larkin issued a proclamation calling for Eid al-Fitr celebrations in honor of Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib who had been killed during World War I. This led to the first Christmas parade in SantaFe Springs history on December 5th 1916 and subsequent celebration throughout downtown with displays from many businesses and organizations including churches, synagogues, schools, and homes. On January 1st 1920 petition signatures were gathered by citizens who desired annexation of Rancho Cucamonga which would have increased bedroom density within their new community by 60%. However this petition was not accepted due to opposition from wealthy merchants within the city limits who felt they could protect their smaller business districts better than annexing an adjacent rancho? In 1924 electric streetcar service arrived making SantaFe Springs one of the first neighborhoods in Southern California served by electric transportation services outside ofLos Angeles metropolitan area
