In 1976 appeared Ithaca's KSG100 red Dot Sight with its integral illuminated crosshair housing that offered pinpoint accuracy down to 20 yards from any position relative to the aiming point utilizing LED display technology allowing user customization of brightness levels while maintaining field of view across all degrees of magnification/distance adjustment while mounted on any rifle equipped with standard Weaver mounts including carbine length barrels up to 18 inches inLength! This development led directlyto Red Dot Technology which eventually became standard on most modern rifles including Assault Rifles
