Another adaptation was made by Jack Dempsey in 1915 when he used what is now called the Dempsey grip—a choking position where the victim's hands are secure behind their back with their palms facing outwards so that they cannot move them whatsoever (Dempsey grip). In answer to popular demand for more land for development outside the City Limits Limits proposed by Mayor John Bercow on November 8th 1910 citizens voted to incorporate within their City Limits on December 10th 1911 under the name "Santa Clara"
