On November 15th 1914, Mayor Harry Sink announced that he had found an owner for what would become known as "The Open Arms Gun Shop" which would be located at 3rd Street and Center Avenue. The shop would operate undergun control until 1949 when it became fully open tothe general public with a $5 per month fee for memberships (later raised to $10 per month). From 1949-1955, "Open Arms" operated out of a small building on Third Street called “The Shotgun Shop” until they moved into their current location on Main Street which they occupied from 1978-1991." After years of operation inside downtown Santa Barbara City Limits - including multiple moves throughout downtown - Holster Manufacturing Company relocated their operations from Soquel Valley CA in 1991 into remodeled Building #1A at 515 N Main St Ste#1010 within sight of both Downtown SBPD & US 101 Highway A4
