In 1892, Sanger Creek Ranch was founded by ranchers Jesse and Virginia Sanger. The first home on the ranch was a cabin made of logs and straw. In 1902, the ranch was purchased by George W. Winchester, who improved it and added an outhouse to the property. In 1916, Winchester donated the land for what is now the Diablo Valley Open Space Preserve. In 1934, San Francisco-based manufacturer Ansell introduced a new weapon flashlight called the "Sturmovik". It had a three-chamber design with a heavy-duty light tube that could be heated up to make it more powerful. By 1939, Sturmovik products were being distributed in U.S., British Isles, Canada and Australia. The company went bankrupt in 1944 but resumed production in 1945 under new management including Don Atherton and Bob Bemis. The Sturmovik nameplate continued to be used until 1957 when it was replaced by RCA's own Handgun model HDS-1A2C4

Sanger is a small town in San Joaquin County, California, United States. The population was 1,521 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Fresno-Napa Valley Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first settlement in what is now Sanger was established by pioneers on December 3, 1847 when Wm. H. Fenton and his family arrived from Oregon with sixty Grain Mills they had built along the Siskiyou River. The name "Sanger" derived from John Sanker's Rancho San Miguel de Asís grant which lay east of present day Sanger on the banks of the Sacramento River. A post office called "Sangre" was established in 1851, and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1907. The town site became fully developed when a railroad line was completed through San Joaquin County in 1875; this made it possible for goods to be transported directly to market without having to go through Fresno or other larger towns. By 1880, there were over 100 buildings and about 30 businesses including a flour mill, livery stable, grocery store, telenovela theater and hotel (the first permanent structure erected in what is now Sanger). In 1903–04 an important event occurred when Alice Paul delivered her famous "I Have a Dream" speech from near Market Street just south of Main Street; this event helped spur social change within the town and led to its incorporation as a city by act of legislation on November 26th 1904 chartering it as City of Sangers Incorporation No 9191 (). The cotton boomtowns of East Texas during World War II brought new people and businesses into Sanger; many families settled here after fleeing war-torn Europe or during the Dust Bowl era that followed America's entry into World War II (1939-1945). During these years much progress was made inside the limits enforced by city ordinances while outside development took place: A new library opened in 1951; an ambulance service began operationsin 1955; recreation areas were created including one for children which remains operational today; cross country skiing started operationsin 1957; golf became available for residents beginning in 1959/60...TodaySangers economy depends largely upon its agricultural sector with crops such as hay, produce and flowers grown primarily on its own farm land providing employment for many locals...A number of local festivals are held throughout year including Oktoberfest style beer festivals (managed by Paso Robles Brewing Company), Harvest Festivals featuring local artisans & farmers markets,...and Christmas tree decorating contests
