It became known as "Sangers Arsenal" until 1959 when it reopened as the United States Military Academy Ammunition Depot #2 (USMAAD). In 1966 it closed again due to budget cuts and reverted back to its original name of USMAAD until 1998 when it reopened as the Redding Arsenal National Military Park located within Camp Roberts Army Reserve Base under MAP-255-1(a) of congressional directive No 98-521 authorizes responsible Federal agencies concerned with national defense facilities located within their jurisdiction to make recommendations for park improvement which includes providing access to all buildings including ammunition storage buildings without prior notice or demolition; also includes restoration or alteration of existing buildings not included within project boundaries; restoration or alteration of existing buildings which are includedwithin project boundaries is authorized only if there is no other feasible means for providing access without damaging them; public tours are allowed only on weekends during non school hours with advance notice given by museum staff; Museum staff must provide written permission for tours outside normal museum hours
Sanger is a city located in San Bernardino County, California. As of the 2010 census, the city had a population of 24,019. The Sanger post office was established on December 11, 1875 and remained in operation until it was discontinued on March 15, 1961. The first settler in what is now Sanger was George H. Noble who arrived in 1876 and platted the area that includes present-day Sanger and portions of Redlands. In 1880, General John Wagoner founded the First National Bank in what is now downtown Sanger. Businesses continued to grow throughout the early years of this century with flour mills opening up around Sanger as well as fruit orchards and other businesses such as a grocery store and bank sandwiched between two high school buildings (now part of the University of Southern California). In 1905, Ayer Gardner started an oil refinery at Redlands which helped lead to increased industry within Sangers borders; however during World War I many residents left for deployment to fight overseas. Many new families also moved into town during this time as conditions became more difficult back home across the country due to war shortages. During postwar years business boomed again with many new factories being built here including one by Ford Motor Company that produced trucks until it closed in 1978 after producing over 100 million vehicles worldwide. However by 1990s growth had slowed significantly due to increasing competition from other cities within close proximity for jobs and housing development outside of town began encroaching upon old industrial sites providing less space for manufacturing employment while residential areas were growing rapidly becoming increasingly suburbanized further away from downtown amenities which led some existing businessesovovertake their original locations or merge with neighboring municipalities creating large conglomerates known today as “ Megalopolis” companies like IBM, Googleplex etc.). Sanger, California was founded in 1879 by J.B. Sanger and his wife, Anna May. The town was named for Jens Hansen Sanger, a Danish immigrant who came to the United States in 1847 and became a naturalized American citizen. In 1881, the town had a population of just under 100 people and was located about midway between Sacramento and San Francisco. In 1902, Sanger built the first electric power plant in California. The plant supplied power to the towns of Stockton and Modesto until it went out of business in 1907. In 1917, Sanger constructed what is now known as the Sangers Schoolhouse which served as one of the first public schools in California. The school was destroyed by fire in 1925 but was rebuilt with more modern amenities and renamed after Anna May Sanger in 1957. In 1938, George Norris dedicated a new library building at Main Street and Pacific Avenue to Jens Hansen Sanger Library Association Incorporated (JHSLA). The original building had been used as an Agricultural Hall on nearby Rancho Seco Road since 1906 when it was donated by Mrs. Anna May Sanger to serve as a meeting place for members of her local agricultural society. A second library building was erected on this site in 1951-1952 following donations from Mrs. Lois Weisel (1908-1984) and Mr. Harry Weisel (1920-1996). This structure served as both an administrative office for the association and its research library until it burned down on November 15th, 1984 during renovation work on theoriginal buildings adjacent thereto!
