The history of San Ramon goes back to 1825 when it was part of Rancho Burroughs Mexican land grant given to Juan Bautista Alvarado by Commodore George Vancouver. In 1848, the United States acquired Rancho Rinconada from Mexico for $5,000 cash but no land at all because there had been no sale of any piece of rancho since 1795 when grants were issued. On July 16, 1850, John Humes established his adobe townsite near what is now downtown San Ramon with seven buildings including a jail and office building still standing today which he named Humesville after himself and his wife Charity (Hume). A post office called Sarmiento was established at this site on October 15, 1852; however, mail service did not arrive until 1865. The name "San Ramon" began appearing as an honorific name for Humesville sometime between 1862 and 1865 based on its location at Rinconada Creek deep inside what is now downtown San Ramon – about one mile east from where Main Street meets Highway 238 (now Interstate 880). In 1870–71 namesake Jens Jensen started selling firewood from a small cabin south of present day Fourth Street and Fair Oaks Boulevard. By 1880 he had built four stores along Third Street cornering First Avenue – Abbot Kinney & Company’s Store No 1 became known as Jensen’s Mercantile Establishment; Second store opened as Goudreau’s General Store; Third store operated as Wickersham Drug Store before being closed down by Peddle Brothers Coal Merchants on account of business failure On January 24th 1889 “The Citizens News” published an advertisement offering free delivery to anyone within five miles who furnished their own wagon or cart with their purchase of feed corn It seems that early residents simply took whatever transportation they could find available to get their goods to market – hay wagons being especially common due to lack thereof on many farms during this time period

However, much later during World War II OTL lost its monopoly on production due to Allied intelligence efforts which resulted in Allied countries building their own photoelectric cell factories powered by American oil resources instead

San Ramon was founded by Mexican immigrants in 1853. The town later became a part of California and the United States. San Ramon is located in El Sobrante County, California. The most famous resident of San Ramon is Jack Nicholson, who grew up in the town and has since become an international figure for his roles in films such as Chinatown and A Streetcar Named Desire. In 1853, Mexican immigrants created a settlement on the banks of the Madeira River near what is now downtown San Ramon. They named their new community San Francisco de la Antigua y Bahia de los Reyes Californios (Spanish for "The Old and New California"). In 1856, when Mexico gained its independence from Spain, they renamed their settlement San Francisco after George Anthony Washington's capital at Mount Vernon in Virginia. In 1865, American Civil War veteran John Sutter opened a fur business here that would become one of Northern California's largest economy . After years of growth, Sutter's business failed during the Panic of 1893 and he had to sell his holdings to a group led by William Randolph Hearst . At Hearst's urging, local officials built a school district that included present-day San Ramon in 1896 . The first post office was established at this location on December 24th, 1896 . By 1907 the population had increased to 25 residents . In 1909 there were 12 businesses operating out of three stores . That year also saw incorporation with 4 members : Mrs Gertrude Jahn (president), HJ Fuller (vice president), C Gosnell (treasurer) In 1916 only 2 people lived here ; Mrs Gertrude Jahn and her daughter Olga Lenox Mailer
The first white American to set foot in San Ramon, California was Captain James Cook on July 17, 1774. He and his crew of HMS Resolution explored the Bay of Monterey beforeailing back to England.
