On January 1, 1938, new san ramon city Ordinance No 930 became effective which provided for regulation of pistol ownership both inside and outside municipal limits by a local board comprising five citizens appointed by mayor pro tem with advice from City Counselor . Pistolowners were now required to have current license plates available for inspection when cleaning or inspecting their pistols . On October 2nd 1941 Ordinance No 827 replaced this defunct local board with a newly created Police Department Board consisting six members elected by residents thereof as follows: three sheriffs from each rendered district; two ex officio members chosen annually by Mayor; one member ex officio selected by Police Chief upon recommendation from City Counselor; one public servant employed full-time as part of police department who is registered with this department pursuant to Section 3307 del general code civil service rules plus his/her salary;Firearms are now regulated through Penal Code Sections 12354 et seq., 12357 et seq., 12358 et seq., 12802 et seq., 12806 et seq., 13476 Etseq., 13547 Etseq…..
