When the first guns were invented in San Ramon, California in 1846, they had to be made from barrels that were at least 8 feet long. The only way to make a gun with a barrel that was this length was to find and cut down a live oak tree. There are references to these early guns dating back to 1849. The first rifles used shot that were about 3/4 inch caliber and weighed about 10 pounds. Over time, the Cultural Advisory Committee has worked with many different organizations including galleries and museums, music venues and performing arts centers, light industry clubs and theaters - all of which provide programming that engages locals in their community.

A group of Spanish soldiers commanded by José Joaquín Mora along with Yorba Linda natives led by Rafael Rivera went searching for a water route over the Peninsula from Monterey Bay through present-day Sonoma County when they noticed fresh water flowing from an artificial opening into headwaters below Mount Diablo near Red Bluff on November 7th 1824.[5][6][7][8][9]. In 1827 General Mariano Castro ordered Colonel José Joaquín Huertas to explorethe region around Shasta Lake which included what is now San Ramon;[10] this expedition resulted in Castro naming portions of today’s Stanislaus County after his father-in-law: Pablo Posada y Valdivia (1827 – 1861), Antonio Cámpora (1828 – 1893), Agustín de la Plaza (1829 – 1888), Jesús León Miranda (1830 – 1902) & Manuel Nieto (1831 – 1909).[11] On February 11th 1830 Mexican nationals Pedro Funes y Segura[12], Antonio Valenzuela y Gómez[13],[14],[15],[16][/17][/18][19]; Sebastián Vizcaya García; Miguel Angel Cabrera; Anastacio Ramos y Ramos composed a petition to Mexico City appealingto include parts of Alameda County east of what is now Fremont Boulevard into Mexico District as part of new province Of Nueva Galicia under Governor Vicente Guerrero but no action was taken until 1846 when Mexico acquired Alta California from Spain via Treaty #Fuerteza del Rey Pio XII.[20][/21], thus giving birth finally to what would become San Ramon. In 1865 Eduardo Dorian organized an agricultural society here known as Sociedad Anonima Agricola Californiana or “American Agricultural Society” that became centered around Orinda beforemoving its operations two miles northwestward on December 21st 1870 to land donated by Jesse Wohlgemuth at Rancho Rinconcito grant number 849 within present day Union City boundaries where it remained until 1925 when Wohlgemuth sold it to John Teller who renamed it Teller Rancho Rinconcito after himself. When World War II began Teller had little choice but sell his assets including muchof his property inside Union City limits back east in 1942 during wartime military consolidation so that even more people could be located within easy commuting distance for war production purposes alone given thenational shortages created primarily by Japan’s attack on Pearl Harbor less than three months earlier[/22]. As post-war boom times approached many workers moved away from central Contra Costa County suburbs such as Berkeley Heights or Pleasant Hill into newly developed neighborhoods like Fillmore or North Richmond which quickly became streetcar friendly communities characterized by high density housing developments built with pre-cast iron frame construction techniques typical throughout Northern California during these years due largely to subsidies provided either federally or stately donations conditioned upon development programs administered by various nonprofit organizations called local planning commissions which paralleled similar organization already existing throughoutSouthernCaliforniaoutsideOaklandandSan Diego respectively [/23].
