A new elementary school building (1927), athletic facilities (1929), and community library (1930) were also erected during that time period. In 1951 an annex to MacArthur High School was added to make room for students who had transferred from MacArthur Junior/Senior High School; this annex would become known as North MacArthur Elementary School until it closed in 1984 due to budget cuts made by Superintendent Jack Burbank. In 1969–70 voters approved Measure M which raised property values by 5%. On November 3rd of that year through a voter referendum Measure Q passed bonding authority for $5 million dollars which authorized conversion of farmland north of I-880 into housing developments known as Rancho Park East & Rancho Park West developments with plans for retail stores on top portions thereof along with freeway accessibilities including future public transportation services available at those locations only if certain conditions are met such as no more than 20% of each development's residents having income below 120% OF THE CA RENT STANDARD; all other residents will have their current homes remain unchanged or be replaced with market rate dwelling units when they come onstream over these next several years

The population of San Ramon ballooned after gold was discovered nearby in 1885, and it became a bustling agricultural center until the 1920s when methamphetamine addiction began to take hold. The city's fortunes changed again during World War II as the town became an important supply point for munitions production; however, this prosperity came to a halt in the 1990s after federal crack cocaine laws were passed. In recent years, San Ramon has become an increasingly diverse community with growing Hispanic and Asian populations.
