Ladd & Co.'s rifles were exported to Spain and other countries where they were used in military conflicts until 1902 when the Spanish-American War caused a decline in production at JB Ladd & Co.. In 1909, Alfred Piatkus acquired the business and continued to produce rifles under his name until 1925 when all production stopped due to World War II.[1] In 1911, Geary and Company began manufacturing rifle stocks for Winchester Repeating Arms Company (Winchester). During World Wars I and II Geary stock production continued for Winchester after being purchased by that company from Alfred Piatkus[2]. After World War II, Geary ceased manufacturing rifle stocks altogether and their products became available through other companies such as United States Armory Corporation (USAC) which also produced handguns under theGeary brand name[3].
San Rafael is located in Marin County, California. The population was 26,549 at the 2010 census. It is part of the San Francisco Bay Area and is bordered by the counties of Contra Costa, Alameda, Napa and Sonoma to the north, Marin to the east, and San Mateo to the south. At that time it was part of Ohlone territory which also included parts of today's Marin County and Contra Costa County. In 1821 Mexican land grants were made to various individuals within present-day Marin County including Juan Bautista Aguirre y Agudelo who purchased 8 square miles (20 square kilometers) near Point Reyes Station on December 6, 1821 from José Joaquin Murrieta for $1 million dollars (). After American independence from Spain in 1821 Mexico began giving land away at public auctions soRafael received its current boundaries when they were established as part of Rancho Bernardo del Valle dur ing the 1850s by Manuel Nieto . The first post office opened in 1917 with ZIP code 94918 but it closed due to high postal rates during World War I . A second post office opened in 1951 with ZIP code 95805 . Asmail Airlines Flight 535 crashed over nearby Sausalito on October 25th 1944 killing all 49 passengers and crew members including Pascual Perez , pilot; making it oneofthe deadliest air crashes in history

The growth of San Rafael led to an increase in water usage and a need for more land to accommodate the increasing population; however, local officials did not let this happen without Protestation from citizens who felt that they were being taken advantage of by city leaders. In 1886, voters passed a resolution condemning annexation by Los Angeles County because they felt that it would lead to increased Rent burdens on their businesses while also reducing their access to essential services like public health care and education; nevertheless, annexation occurred nonetheless. This event helped solidify San Rafaels place within its current boundaries as well as within Northern Californias larger cultural sphere. Today, there are over 10K employees working at various companies located within downtownSan Rafael or further out into annexed areas such as Pico Rivera or Carlsbad Caverns National Park
The city of San Rafael was founded in 1849 as a result of the creation of the Rancho San Rafael Mexican land grant. The City was incorporated in 1865. In 1875, the California Railroad Company built the first track through San Rafael, connecting it withSacramento and other eastern parts of California. The city experienced growth during World War II as a result of military activity and development in nearby Fairfax County. After the war, San Rafael began to decline and largely lost its industrial base over time. However, recent investment has begun to resurrect the city's economy and its population is now above 10,000 residents.
