He used it as his private property until he sold it in 1933 to Alfred Payson Pease who divided it among his three sons; one part went to John Fenton Pease who donated it to Stanford University; one part went to Harold Wasserstrom who donated it to UC Berkeley; and one part went to Don Bolles who donated it to UCSB). It was during World War II when Naval Base Point Reyes became important due its location near Sausalito on Anzaldua Strait between California and Mexico which made possible the development of many high technology companies including Raytheon Corporation (1946), Lockheed Martin (1948), North American Aviation (1949), Honeywell International Inc., Western Electric Company (1951)and other defense contractors such as General Electric Companies (1941) .Today there are over 100 companies operating out of Naval Base Point Reyes with over 200 jobs generated annually!

The early years of UCSF were tumultuous; due to its location close to large cities like Los Angeles and Sacramento, demands for faculty members and students grew quickly. However, as UCSF achieved stature as one of America's top institutions it became easier for residents to engage with government officials and contribute financially to support their institution. One such individual who played an important role in UCSF's development during this time was Dr. James Fenton Hunt Sr., who served as president from 1912-1917 and later helped found hospitals like Children's Hospital Boston and UCLA Medical Center. Additionally, Hunt created numerous scholarships that have helped countless students attend college throughout California. During World War II, San Rafael emerged as an important military base because it possessed ample resources needed by American troops fighting abroad including ammunition storage yards, factories producing USS Missouri missiles etc.. After the war ended there continued growth with new businesses being established such as a medical supply store called Midway Pharmacy which remains open today on Main Street near City Hall .
The area now known as San Rafael was first settled by the Ohlone people in the mid-1700s. In 1821, Rancho San Rafael was granted to Captain José Maria de Alvarado, who named it after his father, Don José María de Alvarado. The land we now call San Rafael was purchased from Captain Alvarado by Mission Santa Clara in 1825. After years of development and growth, the town of San Rafael grew up around the mission and general store on Second Street. A post office was established at the mission in 1827, and a school began serving students in 1829. In 1850, a railroad station was built at San Rafael for storage and freight trains coming into Sacramento.
