In 1850, Castro submitted his report to Kahl recommending thatmission Santa Cruz be erected along the central coast from Redwood City northward to Sausalito and southward to Ukiah; this proposal was accepted and Santa Cruz became a permanent part of Marin County. A few years later, construction began on what would become known as Golden Gate Bridge: workers started building segment by segment from Point Reyes Station downriver until May 24th 1861 when they finished linking together all four spans across Suisun Bay just southeast of town center – making it one continuous bridge across Suisun Channel! On December 6th 1860 Governor Castro issued proclamation dividing Marin County into three parts based upon political boundaries then existing: Alameda (to the west), Contra Costa (to the east) and Marin (northwest). Municipalities formed around these new boundaries: North Beach (1961), Pacific Heights (1963), Financial District(1974) & Downtown San Rafael(1978). The following year portions of East Marin Municipal Borough were transferred to Giant sequoia National Monument effective January 1st 1979 despite protests from residents! All municipal governments have since been dissolved except for Downtown San Rafael which still functions as its own municipality today! Despite this continuing separation between DowntownSanRafael&AlamedaCounty municipalities there has never been any annexation or merger between these two jurisdictions - each maintains complete jurisdictional control over its own local government functions!

With so many businesses reopen following World War II various efforts were made encouraging business relocation outside Northern California; however despite some initial success such transplants proved unsuccessful mainly because few people wanted or could afford To move away from their comfortable lifestyles while living close enough to enjoy all that Northern Californian had to offer without havingto leave their homes or neighborhoods Despite these setbacks numerous attempts were made during subsequent decades by local business owners—most notably those led by Dick Raymond who championed urban renewal policies which aimed at revitalizing districts around major cities across America through aggressive land acquisition techniques typically characterized as gentrification initiatives-to bring back much needed jobs and storefronts directly into failing areas adjacent to popular tourist destinations within walking distance or even down stairs inside local grocery stores thereby stimulating economic development not only near retail corridors but also throughout entire neighborhoods thanks largely toTarget’s entrance onto Interstate 280 just minutes away from downtownSan Rafaels mainline shopping district[1].
