In response to these attacks against U S forces by insurgents backed by Chetniks living within Mexico City, President Theodore Roosevelt called up 3 brigades (1st Infantry, 1st Artillery & 2nd Dragoons) from New York City under Major General John Pershing to help prevent any more bloodshed in Texas across the borderland between America and Mexico – what became known as "The Great War". It wasn't until 1912 that California banned handguns altogether effective January 1st 1913 statewide

On November 15th of that year, San Lorenzo became a part of the new town of Oakland. The first school in this area opened at Claremont College on December 6th, 1863. During World War II (1939-1945), over 20% of all American exports went through San Francisco Bay ports including those handled by the Naval base at Alameda; during that time shipping activity along the coast increased 50%. After 1945 many small businesses closed due to lack of business opportunities and the high cost of rentals and repairs following war devastation throughout Northern California
