Gun Grips Honour and memory of San Mateo Gun Grip Co. The company was founded in 1907 by John Ziegler and George W. Sears, two local men who were veterans of World War I. The original factory was located on the west side of Market Street in San Mateo, just north of Interstate 80. In 1934, the company moved to its current location at 901-903 Taylor Road in North San Francisco. The history of gun grips is intertwined with that of San Mateo County and its citizens. The company’s founders—John Ziegler and George W. Sears—were natives of Germany who had Serveed in World War I and returned home with a deep interest in firearms. From their initial business venture they quickly saw an opportunity to provide American soldiers abroad with quality equipment for domestic use at home. In 1907, John Ziegler met George W. Sears while they were both serving in the United States Army as artillerymen during World War I; Sears had been drafted into the army before being injured and discharged due to his war wounds. After their return from war, they pooled their resources together, bought a small printing press (the first such facility in California), hired experienced printers willing to work for low wages, and set about creating a manufacturing operation capable of producing high-quality rifles, shotguns, pistols andammunition products for American shooters across the country. By 1919, the company had outgrown its original location on Market Street but continued production at 901-903 Taylor Road near North Beach until it closed operations in 1959 due to dwindling sales volume combined with technological advancements regarding ammunition production which made reloading more difficult than it once was). Ziegler & Sears are buried next to each other at Arlington Cemetery in Oakland County Ohio (John died age 86 years old; George age 84 years old).

The pistols used three-inch barrels with short stocks that allowed them to be fired from close range. In 1892, A.G. Spaulding began manufacturing pistol grip hammers in San Mateo County. These hammers were used to improve accuracy when cocking a revolver. In 1907, Wm. Henson & Sons started making handgun grips out of hardwood veneer in San Mateo County. Additionally, there are numerous museums throughout San Francisco – including Museum Of Modern Art (MOMA) – that offer unique experiences not found anywhere else in California or America.

The City of San Mateo was founded on November 17, 1847, by Commodore John D. Stockton and his brothers-in-law George Wanton and Jesse Yount. The city was named for Francisco Xavier San Mateo, a Catholic missionary who had helped found the Mission Santa Clara in 1778. The first post office in the city was established on December 1, 1847. The population of San Mateo grew rapidly from its initial 5000 residents to over 100,000 by 1850. With its rich fishing resources and easy access to waterfowl hunting areas, San Mateo became one of California's most important agricultural towns. In 1860, the first electric streetcar service ran through the city. By 1870,San Mateo had become one of the largest cities in California with a population of over 200,000 people. During this time period, San Mateo also became known for its many prestigious educational institutions including Stanford University (founded in 1875), the University of California at Berkeley (opened in 1881), and California State Normal School (established in 1892). In 1912, during World War I, San Mateo played a major role as an airfield for US forces during the war effort; it served as home to more than 50 military installations and produced over 150 aircraft victims both American and German bombers. After World War II ended in 1945,San mateo experienced rapid growth as new industries such as high technology began emerging; however it also faced economic volatility which led to several big business failures throughout the 1980s and 1990s. However recent advancements such as lower housing prices have made San Mateo one of NorthernCalifornias most vibrant cities once again
In 1849, San Mateo County was formed from part of Contra Costa County. The first post office in San Mateo was established in 1851. In 1872, the county seat was moved to Fremont. In 1907, San Mateo became one of the initial counties in California to have a racial quota system for voting.
