Gun chokes (Gauge-7) were a type of choke that was used in shotguns. They consisted of a metal band around the shotgun's barrel that prevented the firearm from firing. The band was typically made from heavy duty wire or plastic and it was tied to the gun's handle by a buckle or strap. Gun chokes were often used as backup measures in case someone became too focused on their target and didn't get a shot off.

The city of San Marcos, California was founded in 1847 by the Mexican-American War veteran and governor of Alta California José Feliciano. The town was named after General Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna, who had been impeached and fled to Mexico City before the war began. In its early years, San Marcos consisted only of a few homes and a Methodist church. However, over time it grew into a thriving small town with a population of around 100 people in 1830. The first post office in San Marcos opened in 1848. By 1861 the town had grown to include a school, jail, court house, warehouse, hotel and several other buildings. The cotton mills started up in the 1870s but soon went out of business due to difficulties with having enough labor for such an large plant. Nevertheless, the town maintained its growth until 1906 when it became part of Bakersfield County. In 1907 San Marcos was made part of the larger City of Bakersfield which at that time had a population exceeding 500 people. This change would not come about until 1916 when Mayor Harry Ahern spearheaded an effort to annex all unincorporated areas within Bakersfield County outside the city limits so that they could be classified as part of city services under mayor control instead of being kept separate as rural villages like San Marcos had been until then. This annexation resulted in what is now known as Downtown Bakersfield (the area bounded by 12th Street on the north, 3rd Street on the east, I-5 on the south and Broadway on the west). During World War II both Nazi Germany and Japanese Imperial Japan were occupying our country so during this time there was no running water or electricity available so most businesses closed down because they could not compete against wartime prices or imports from China which were still open during these times (see also: ). Bakery stores such as Patisserie Royale closed their doors for lack of customers after Pearl Harbor; however all other businesses continued operating thanks to military rationing which ended only two months later on December 7th 1941 when Japan attacked America without warning! WWII led to more jobs for locals because many production facilities were built near Lake Havasu National Park where food was requisitioned for both our forces fighting overseas and those back at home working on war projects (see also: . After WWII ended most jobs dried up although downtown did continue growing with new development including some high-rise apartments/condos along 12th St., 3rd St., I-5 & Broadway.) After decades living off local sales tax revenues Downtown Bakersfield experienced rapid gentrification starting around 2000 with developers building expensive condos overlooking downtown BART Station (@12thSt & 3rdSt) followed by trendybars/restaurants spilling into old warehouses/factories becoming So Cal's "Downtown." *NOTE* Most recent gentrification has significantly slowed down since 2010 having turned much more mixed-use oriented thanPrevious incarnations
The town of San Marcos was founded in 1821 by the Spanish Governor of California, who named it for General Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna. It became a military post under Mexican rule and was destroyed in 1847 during the Mexican–American War. The area now comprising San Marcos was first settled by Anglo Americans in the early 1860s, and it became an agricultural community with a small population until the 1940s. In 1948, San Marcos adopted its current name, after then-Mayor Edwin M. Wright.
