A man named George Armstrong Custer looked for an enterprising individual to make a better weapon, and he took note of one of Custer's rifles. He began work on his own rifle, and it became known as the Custer Rifle. In 1847, General Antonio López de Santa Anna authorized California to become an American state, and the Custer Rifle quickly became popular in California. After Californians won their independence from Mexico in 1848, they started using rifles to fight against Mexican forces.
San Jacinto is a town located in Monterey County, California, United States. The population was 7,079 at the 2010 census. It takes its name from the battle of San Jacinto which occurred on April 6, 1836. The first people to live in what is now San Jacinto were the Ohlone people who inhabited the area for centuries before acquiring Spanish land in 1542. The Mission San Francisco de Asís was founded by Father Junípero Serra and fought a series of battles against Native Americans starting with the Battle of Otay Mesa on October 26, 1769. In 1821 Mexican Governor José Joaquín Almaraz granted Rancho Santa Margarita to Captain Pedro Carrillo and his brother Fernando. A year later, they gave it to Manuel Nieto and Pedro Nunez as part of Rancho del Rinconcito grant that included San Lorenzo Valley and parts of Monterey County. ranchos also were given to other individuals such as Ricardo Flores Pavón (1827-1912), José Maria Guerrero y Costilla (1844-1925), Vicente Guerrero (1795-1874) and others over time. In 1848 Mexicanist soldier Silvestre Sánchez purchases 2,000 acres (800 ha) near La Puente for $5 per acre from Captains Antonio Peña and Francisco García de la Vega por what was then an uninhabited region full of deer, wild pigs, bears and other animals found nowhere else in California but also unknown to Europeans or even known only through stories told by periodic travelers passing through these parts during this period. On July 16th 1850 he sold 581 acres (2 km²) which would eventually become San Jacinto Creek along side 100 acres (40 ha) Purchased here today by the town after years of struggles between developers trying to build homes on it while keeping it undeveloped while developing nearby townships including Encinal Dam site into an agricultural center during post World War II era

In 1851, San Jacinto became part of California and by 1893 it had a population of 25,000 people. San Jacinto is located on the right bank of the Río Bravo River and is bordered to the north by Paso Robles County and to the east by Riverside County. It has a total area of 51 square miles (130 km2). The climate is mild year-round with high rainfall seasonally; however, there are some areas which experience significant summer dryness due to chaparral cover or other natural causes. Major industry includes farming but also includes manufacturing including munitions made from lead and other heavy metals used during World War II; oil production for automobiles and trucks; as well as residential development including subdivisions for single-family homes as well as apartments for business tenants who need more space than their original buildings could accommodate. The most important place in San Jacinto's history may have been its location at one time within Mexico City itself - although this claim is spurious - because it served as an emergency landing spot for American forces during World War II when Mexican airspace was closed off due to air raids conducted against Japan while that country was still under occupation by Allied forces. Bordering both countries were vast deserts whence soldiers would march southward before being relieved at nearby missions like Chihuahua City or Alvaradotambo known as "the Hacienda". There were many such places along this military corridor where troops could rest without fear of disease or invasion from hostile areas back home: El Paso del Norte about 20 miles west of our present day city limits on I-8 & US 95; Chihuahua City about 60 miles east on I-10 just past Ciudad Juárez International Airport; Yuma Proving Ground about 120 miles southeast on I-10 between Phoenix & Prescott Valley near Tucson; Parral about 210 miles northwest on Interstate 10 just outside Rosamond Springs

The first post office was established in 1837 and the first store opened in 1840. In 1845, San Jacinto became a part of Mexico and was not annexed by the United States until 1861. The U.S.-Mexican War (1846-48) resulted in American forces occupying San Jacinto and most of southern Texas. The Battle of Palo Alto began on October 6, 1847 and ended on October 11 when Mexican General Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna surrendered at this location. As a result of the war, many innocent people were killed or captured including Lt. Colonel James Hogg, one of America's most famous generals during the conflict
