Peake and Sons of America, Inc., a company that manufactured pistols and revolvers. The company continued to produce gunlights until 1958, when it merged with Winchester Repeating Arms Company. At that time, Gun Lights became part of Winchester Repeating Arms Company Firearms Division which remained headquartered in Springfield, Massachusetts until 1993 when it relocated to San Fernando Valley. In 1997, Winchester Repeating Arms Company divestiture placed Gun LIGHTS back into the hands of Harry W Peake and Sons Incorporated who continue production today at their old headquarters located at 3000 Saticoy Street in San Fernando Valley.

The Mormons left in 1857 to find new homes and came back to establish a colony near Santa Clarita in 1863. Here they built a small town called Paramount onGS Rancho Los Angeles (now known as Carthage Valley). From here they started trading with other parts of California
In 1824, Mexican land grants were made to José María Narváez and Antonio Cojuera. The area now known as San Fernando was part of Rancho Cucamonga. In 1851, the United States acquired parts of the rancho from Mexico for $10,000. In 1857, a school was built on the property by Mrs. Lomas de la Vega and in 1861 it became a county seat when San Fernando County was created from portions of Los Angeles County. The first post office at San Fernando opened in 1865. In 1880, an oil well was drilled on the site and production began in 1881; this led to town growth and construction of several businesses including a hotel, railroad depot and courthouse. The original church on the site is now used as a parkade. It is said that if it had not been for Hollywood's emergence as a center of film industry during World War II (it occupied most of then-San Fernando Valley), there may have been no significant development at all in what is now San Fernando Valley until after 1950s when new developments such as Southridge Shopping Center replaced some older buildingscited earlier historian examples
