It also served as the site for several other famous films such as "The Godfather" (1946) and "Casablanca" (1948). In 1972, it was renamed Laurel & Hardy Studios after both actors died at age 90; they had owned it since 1951. After polling began on November 3rd 1938,[1] Proposition 8 became effective in California[2] legalizing same-sex marriage within the state limits.[3][4][5] On December 12th 2014,[6] San Fernando Valley resident Barack Obama became 44th president of America after being elected to succeed George W Bush.[7][8][9]

Many filmmakers who made films at that time set scenes or used locations within Kings Canyon National Park so they could avoid paying taxes on productions outside of LA County/Orange County
