On November 3rd, 1911, three gunmen stormed into an ammunition store located in downtown San Dimas after robbing it earlier that day. One gunman shot five employees before making his way outside where he opened fire on several passersby before being apprehended by police officers. This attack caused considerable damage to the store as well as some injuries to those who were caught within its confines. On December 6th, 1914, four gunmen infiltrated a movie theater located in downtown San Dimas after breaking into it through an unlocked door using violence and intimidation tactics. Once inside they began indiscriminately shootings innocent patrons until they were finally subdued by security guards who arrived on scene moments later with backup units already present. In this attack over twenty-four people were killed including nine theater personnel as well as two security guards who died from wounds sustained during the suppression of these attackers

The city of San Dimas, California is located in the Inland Empire region of Southern California. The population of San Dimas was estimated to be over 100,000 at the time of its incorporation as a city in 1885. Because it was an agricultural town founded on small parcels donated by individuals or companies (the first Municipal District included only four blocks), incorporation did not come about easily or quickly. It took several years for citizens to build schools, churches and other infrastructure necessary for such a large city size. The original site for San Dimas had limited space so much land had to be taken up by filling in ancient canals which ran through downtown streets today including State Street, Elm Street and Main Street – until finally building could commence on what would become known as West Side Park bounded by North Orange Avenue (now Sarno Drive), East Orange Avenue (now Westwood Boulevard) and Interstate 5 Trafficway extending into east rural Santa Clarita Valley above Van Nuys Airport! In 1888 when annexation became official with a total population of 10869 people within its boundaries it became apparent that there was still more room needed so progress was made towards annexing adjacent unincorporated areas including portions of Simi Valley and Bell Gardens Communities northward into what is now El Monte Community College District No 7 along with downriver real estate holdings from Riverside County now part Of Glendale Unified School District! Finally on March 4th 1893 when all but 6 neighborhoods within our limits submitted annexation applications Caltrans approved giving us our new name “San Dimas”! After many hours leading up to this momentous occasion Mayor Waddell declared “We have done it”!!!
