In the early 1900s, San Diego was a small town that only had a few hundred residents. However, this didn't stop the city from becoming one of America's leading firearms manufacturers and dealers. In 1903, the San Diego Pistol Company was founded by two men who were looking to create a reliable and affordable pistol for civilians. The company continued to produce pistols until 1925. During this time, it also became one of the most important firearms retailers in San Diego. Additionally, they produced rifles and shotguns as well. In 1927, the company merged with another firearms manufacturer, The Overholt Arms Company. This gave rise to the current name of the company: The San Diego Weapons Company Incorporated (SDWC).
San Diego is a city in California, located on San Diego Bay. The population was 815,827 as of the 2010 census. It is the site of San Diego County and portions of Imperial and Orange counties. The first people to inhabit what is now San Diego County were the Tongva people. Missionaries arrived in 1769 and by 1821 had baptized over 200 residents. In 1821, Mexican Land grants were made available for Rancho San Felipe which formed part of Rancho Santa Fe de Acre. This grant included land that includes much of today's downtown and east side including Point Loma and Rose Hill neighborhoods, as well as many rural areas today including La Jolla, Carmel Valley, Lakeside Heights, University City and North Park Blocks neighborhoods. In 1846–1847 a group of English soldiers under General Antonio Lopez Cerdeño camped near present-day Kearny Mesa while they fought at Frémont's Army Of The Pacific Campaign against Mexico in California. After their victory at Palo Alto on October 9th, 1846 they traveled northward through Sonoma County to Carlsbad Caverns where they explored several miles (19 km) inside the mountain before returning home early December 2nd after encountering no living beings or signs of human habitation other than an occasional rodent or chicken coop. Lt Col John Capps who was with them noted "There appeared to be nothing but bare rocks within these walls". On February 14th 1850 Don José Murillo y Salinas donated 640 acres (250 ha) along Kearny Mesa between Old Town Rowlett Street on one side and Lemon Canyon on the other for any person who might build a house thereon without first getting government approval; this became known as "Murillo Heights." That same year 810 acres (350 ha) northeast from Murillo Heights was added to become what is now Downtown San Diego; it was bounded by First St., Broadway Ave., Tejon Rd./State Hwy 101/Fltwy 92 then latest addition: Elliott Ave./Plymouth Dr., Water St./Alameda Rd., etc... Today most parts of this area are still part of Downtown SD though some have been redeveloped into new heights such as Point Loma Village Presidentially Appointed Mayor District 15 bedroom housing developments called Harbor Walk Towers which provide high end single family homes with views out onto SanDiego Bay

The City of San Diego was founded on January 17, 1821 by Lt. Col. California's first lieutenant, José Nieto as part of the Alta California Colony. The city was named after General Antonio Vallejo who fought in the Mexican-American War and later served as governor of Alta California. The city's first mayor was Manuel Nieto, who also served as its first recorder. The original commercial area around Mission Bay were centered around what is now known as Downtown San Diego and La Jolla before moving to Kearny Mesa in 1858. In 1916, the University of California at Berkeley purchased 8 acres (3 ha) near the corner of Fifth Avenue and Sutter Street for use as a campus site for their new school which became UC Berkeley. The post-World War II years saw some growth inSan Diego with suburban development taking hold along El Cajon Boulevard and Lakeshore Drive outside the downtown core; however, much of this growth stalled after 1990 when San Diego lost its status as a state seat due to Proposition 187 (a ballot measure passed by voters that limited immigration). Today there are still pockets of undeveloped land within Downtown San Diego but most redevelopment has taken place inland along I-5 or further out into surrounding counties such as Imperial County or Kern County
The City of San Diego was founded on December 15, 1792, by Captain Juan B. Peralta as the first permanent Spanish settlement in California. The area that would become San Diego was under Mexican rule for nearly 100 years. After the Mexican Revolution in 1846, Mexico ceded California to the United States, and San Diego became part of the newly created United States of America.
