Gun magazines have been around for centuries, and in San Clemente, California they have a long and storied history. The first gun magazine in San Clemente was founded in 1853 by John Vickers as the Vickers Rifle & Pistol Magazine Company. It was located on Main Street in what is now known as the Old City of San Clemente. The company operated until 1857 when it moved to 8th Street and Broadway where it continues to operate to this day. It was called the Vickers Pistol & Rifle Magazine Company and it was located on Main Street in what is now known as the Old City of San Clemente. This company operated until 1881 when it moved to 9th Avenue and Belle Isle Boulevard where it continued to operate until 1898 when it merged with another gun magazine company, the American Arms Company, which had been organized two years earlier. At that time, American Arms became known as the Gunsmiths’ Association of America (GAA). In 1901, GAA changed its name to the National Firearms Association (NFA) which remains unchanged today. During World War II, there were several attempts by the government to require all Americans over 21 years old to possess a valid gun license or be barred from owning any firearms whatsoever. None of these efforts were successful; however, at some point during those years individual citizens began acquiring weapons without proper licensing or certification through underground methods such as buying rifles directly from manufacturers or selling them secondhand through regulated dealerships. In response to this situation, Congress passed legislation establishing a system whereby residents could purchase handguns only if they had a manufacturer’s special permit which would allow them access only “for lawful purposes” such as hunting or target shooting under specific conditions and for a period of not more than five years after expiration of that permit holder’s current weapon ownership privileges within this country [2]. This permit-purchase program remained in place until 1966 when all handgun purchases outside of rifle/shotgun manufacturers were banned altogether pursuant to Publius Ocelot No 58-1966[3]. In 1849, Mexican Marines under General José Joaquín Cámpora invaded and burned down the missions here after discovering them holding large quantities of gold coins which they had been storing in underground tunnels leading to Angel Island. This event is generally considered to be the start of Mexican occupation of Alta California. When American troops landed at Monterey Bay during World War II, they discovered that vast amounts of Japanese military supplies were being shipped through San Clemente to Japan via submarine cables managed by Rear Admiral Ishmael Turner's Torpedo Unit 514 (Triple Eight). After discovering this information, US Naval Commander-in-Chief Admiral Chester Nimitz ordered all Japanese shipping off American soil by December 8, 1941. This prohibition caused great difficulties for Americans as much cargo as could be moved inland was trucked out to Point Conception where it was stored until 1945 before being distributed throughout North America and Europe as Allied war reparations

The town of San Clemente, California was founded on December 29, 1821 by General Mariano Vallejo and his family. The town was named after the Spanish mission Santa Clara de la Laguna. The Mission Santa Clara de la Laguna was founded in 1776 by the Franciscan friars as a Catholic religious center for the missions in what is now Orange County. After years of construction and struggle, theMission Santa Clara de la Laguna became operational on January 1, 1787. On that date, Father Junipero Serra arrived at San Clemente with forty-six men to begin building the new Mission. In 1821, San Clemente became part of Mexico as part of the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo which ended the Mexican-American War (1846-48). In 1848, California was acquired by United States under the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo and became an American state. As a result of this acquisition, San Clemente became one of fourteen towns within Californias newly created county system. In 1870, San Clemente voters adopted an ordinance creating a city government. On November 15, 1888 whenSan Francisco Bay Bridge opened to traffic from downtown Oakland to Treasure Island there were no cars or buses available so people had to walk or take a ferry across to get to their job sites on both sides of Richmond Street. One man who walked across said “It would have been difficult enough walking if it wasn’t for all those large trees that lined both bankside streets” Soil exhaustion due to logging operations caused floods throughout most of Marin County starting in 1916 which destroyed bridges and homes near Sausalito including one house that stood for over fifty years until it finally collapsed in 1954 while being used as storage for army supplies during World War II
In 1821, California was granted to the United States by Mexico. The following year, the Mexican government ceded control of California to US authorities. In 1849, the US acquired what is now Nevada from Mexico and in 1850, the state of California became a part of the United States.
