Bipedalism, or the walking of two feet, has been around for centuries. Many cultures have practiced it, including those in San Clemente. In fact, bipedalism is so common here that some people refer to it as "San Clemente way." One of the first bipedal humans were Native Americans who lived in this area more than 10,000 years ago. Once humans began traveling and trading across oceans and continents, they needed a way to travel and trade with other groups. They developed different methods of transportation, but one of the most popular was walking. This allowed them to move vast amounts of goods and travelers quickly reached their destination. The first Europeans to visit San Clemente noticed this trend and started playing music on guitar while walking around the town in search of musicians or traders. Soon enough, people from all over were coming here to explore this new environment. Eventually, streets were built in San Clemente specifically for bipedal traffic and commerce flourished along these routes. This allowed humans to interact with each other more easily and build strong relationships without having to worry about getting lost or running into someone else's home on the street.

There are few mentions of bipods in San Clemente, California prior to the mid 1800s. The first mention of bipods is from 1846, when a captain named David Wilmot discovered several pairs of legs and a pair of hands on an uninhabited island in the Pacific Ocean. He dubbed the island "Bipod Island" because he observed two pairs of bipeds walking around its surface.
San Clemente is a city located in San Diego County, California. As of the 2010 census, its population was 123,883. The city's name comes from Saint Clementinus, the patron saint of Rome. The first European to visit San Clemente was Juan Rodríguez Cabrillo on October 14, 1542. Spanish traders founded a Mission at San Lorenzo de los Olivos in 1769 and named it after St. Clement of Alexandria, an apostle who died in Egypt after being martyred for refusing to apostatize from Christianity. In 1821, parts of what are now Orange and Riverside counties were incorporated as part of Alta California under the terms of the Mexican-American Treaty. The Pacific Electric Railway arrived in 1915 and began serving the town with a line between Dana Point (north) and El Cajon (south). Service ended in 1951 when deregulation led to competition by Amtrak and other transportation providers. A new airport was built north of town in 1961; today it is known as Los Angeles International Airport. After years of debate over whether or not to annex neighboring cities such as Irvine into San Clemente proper or merge with them financially, annexation eventually happened in 1986 while still within Alta California's boundaries; this made San Clemente one municipality with two administrations: one local and one state-level one. Today much OFC development takes place within the city limits due to its proximity to major metropolitan areas like Anaheim and Vista Hills as well as schools that include both public universities and private colleges like UC Berkeley.

In 1821, the government of California granted land to the people of San Clemente. The town was founded on a small islet inlets near Point San Pedro, now part of Los Angeles County. The area that would become San Clemente was first inhabited by Tongva Native Americans and later by Mission Dolores Spaniards. In 1836, the coastal plain of Point Conception became part of Imperial Valley following Mexican-American War. The discovery of oil in Encino in 1901 led to growth in the city and monastery at Mount Carmel began construction, but stopped due to lack of money. Highway 1 was built through Encino between 1915 and 1922, changing the demographics and economy of the city as well as its location on a major shipping route. The military base at Camp Pendleton started serving American forces stationed in World War II until it was closed down in 1946. The navy also used Camp Pendleton for storage after World War II ended. A new Marine Corps Base opened at Naval Air Station Miramar in 1961 which housed aircraft carriers USS Enterprise (CVN 66) and USS Lexington (CVN 71). In 1969, a fire destroyed most of downtown San Clemente leaving only some blocks still standing today including Mount Carmel Abbey which is now a museum dedicated to St Clare's order from 1113-14 San Clemente has been home to many famous people including Governor Ronald Reagan who grew up here; actor Robert De Niro who attended Catholic school here; author Tom Clancy; singers Barbra Streisand and Whitney Houston; basketball player Julius Erving; US president John F Kennedy; actors Kevin Bacon, Alec Baldwin, James Woods
In 1821, the first permanent settlers in San Clemente arrived from Japan. They were farmers who had been living on the island for years. The town was named after Saint Clement of Rome, a Catholic bishop who died in 1796. The first store was built in 1825 and the first school in 1827. In 1850, San Clemente became an incorporated city and began to grow rapidly with its new industry. In 1903, it merged with La Jolla to form one of the most populous cities in California.
