Ammunition has been around for centuries, and San Clemente, California is home to one of the oldest ammunition production facilities in the United States. The factory was founded in 1892 by James Fenton and his brother-in-law George Armstrong. It was originally called Fenton Ammunition Depot and eventually became San Clemente Armory. The first projectiles made at San Clemente were bullets made of lead shot. These Arrows were used by the military during World War I as well as hunting rifles. In 1924, ammunition manufacturer John Moulton began producing shells out of cast Lead Nitrate rounds with a .50 caliber bullet. This type of round was later designated M1A1 by America’s armed forces. Moultons munitions plant continued to produce this type of ammunition until it closed in 1968 due to competition from more efficient machines from other manufacturers. At its closure, San Clemente Armory produced over 1 million rounds of various calibers of ammo including ammo for both American and NATO weapons systems. This facility also produced components for many handguns such as Beretta handguns and Smith & Wesson revolvers dating back to the 1800s. Today, parts for these firearms are still manufactured at this location using traditional methods such as hand forging or die casting before being shipped off to their final destination across the US market

In 1914–1918 World War I saw the introduction of new ammunition types such as high explosives and incendiary shells that caused great destruction on battlefields around the world. Since 1945 various improvements have been made to ammunition including jacketed bullet design, reloading technology and improvedanti-materiel measures like armor Piercing Bullets (APB) which can penetrate through armour). The City of San Clemente is located on an uninhabited island in the Pacific Ocean. The population was 3,451 at the 2010 census, down from 4,069 at the 2000 census. The first European to visit San Clemente was Juan Rodríguez Cabrillo on October 26, 1542. He named it Isla de la Isabela after his mother's birthplace in Spain. The island had no land or water resources and its only inhabitants were feral canaries. In 1602, Captain Christopher Newport anchored off the coast of San Clemente and claimed both Isla de la Isabela and Santa Catalina for England as part of the Treaty of Paris which ended the Spanish–American War. A small chapel was built on Santa Catalina in 1821 by Father José Gomez to serve as a Catholic church for sailors who disembarked there during their visits to California. A lighthouse was built on Isla de la Isabela in 1825 by Pedro Menéndez Marín and commissioned by Englishman John Sutter who had founded Sacramento Valley Colony near modern-day Escondido. At first the light guided ships around Cape Mendocino but then it became important for navigation inasmuch as nearby Point Conception lay athwart Todos Santos Bay onKNISL-1911 (or "Island area NM 8361") about midway between San Francisco and Los Angeles Harbor when sea levels were lower; today's Point Conception Light is about northeast of present-day Isla de la Isabela Light House#2 . In 1856 an unsuccessful attempt was made to build a channel connecting Monterey Peninsula with mainland California throughSan Clemente Island while under way from Monterey Bay to Petaluma Bay.. In 1886 Wm Henson leased land north ofcurrentIslandforhis pesticide works #3 . South of currentIsland he developed rice fields which provided employment for local people until 1937 when World War II destroyed most agricultural production.. After World War II many people left for various reasons including economic hardship due to recession during 1946 - 1955; city annexation following statehood 1959; oil discoveries offshore 1969 - 1975; increased crime rates beginning in late 1980s and continuing into recent years including numerous murders committed against police officers since 2000 .. On December 11th 1960 two volunteer firemen from Big Sur started a small fire that quickly grew out of control at Pier 39 just outside downtown #4 .. On December 12th 1960 two more volunteer firefighters responded to Pier 39 only this time they extinguished the blaze using all available tools before it spread inland .. This event helped start what would become known as Volunteer Fire Department history .. On November 14th 1964 an arsonist set fires throughout downtown #5 causing extensive damage that required $136,000 worth of damage repairs over three months later .. eventually capture & prosecution.. Firefighters responded again on January 2nd 1965 stemming one early morning Blaze that burned 6 businesses totaling $151,000+ Damage caused .. With increasing manpower & technologyFD has continued making large claims like putting out a major blaze inside Mission Viejo Mall one night earlier this year ( Jan 9) resulting almost total destruction$230K+In less than 12 hours!#6

The history of San Clemente, California goes back to the early 1800s when it was a small fishing village on the eastern coast of San Diego County. The area that is now San Clemente was originally named Rancho Los Palos Verdes after two of the original Rancho Mexican grants, Rancho Los Alamos and Rancho Las Pulgas. In 1821, Mission Santa Clara de Asís was founded in this area and quickly became one of the most important religious centers in California. In 1827, Captain John Sutter discovered gold onshore at Point Conception and soon began developing this new land into what is today known as San Clemente. In 1853, a group of Englishmen led by Commodore George Vancouver explored the California coastline and came ashore at what is now San Clemente. They named their new settlement "San Clemente" after Pope Clement X who had recently been canonized as a saint. At first, few people lived here because there were no good prospects for agriculture or mining in this remote location. However, over time many Europeans settled here including Irish Catholics who worked on sugar plantations outside of Mexico City while also investing in real estate development around town. One of the earliest businesses to be established in San Clemente was The Merchants Bank which opened its doors on July 15th, 1854. This bank later became part of First National Bank which merged with JBL Corporation in 1967 to form JBL Incorporated (later PepsiCo). Over time other businesses have also opened up such as The Keg Saloon which served drinks from start to finish until 1958 and The Post Office which operated from 1861-1966 before becoming an agency store known as The Post House Supermarket chain until it closed down in 2000. Today much of downtownSan Clemente retains its historical character with surviving buildings like The Merchants Bank building still standing although it has been renovated multiple times over the years. Other notable buildings include Russian Orthodox Cathedral (built 1886), Fisherman's Wharf restaurant dating back to 1917 (now known as Benares Grill), Point Loma State Park Headquarters (built 1911), Andrade Theatre located near Point Loma Boulevard and Stillwater Road (opened 1929) and more recently numerous homes surroundingPoint Loma Boulevard like Vista del Mar Clubhouse & Yacht Harbor Homes developments completed between 2006-2013

The first European to visit the area was Diego Rivera in 1821. San Clemente became part of Mexico after the Mexican-American War in 1848. The United States acquired it from Mexico in 1898 as part of the Treaty of Paris following the Spanish-American War. In 1906, San Clemente became a city with its own government and police force.
