The history of firearms in San Carlos, California dates back to 1848. That year, the U.S. government acquired land in what is now San Carlos County, California and began developing it into a new territory. One of the first people to live on the new land was José Gomez, who built a small cabin near present-day downtown San Carlos. In 1852, George Wickersham arrived in Santa Clara Valley and opened a grocery store that became known as Wickersham's corner grocery. In 1853, Capt. John Cranch discovered oil fields in what is now San Andreas County and began drilling for oil there. This led to the development of the town of Anzavillejo and the beginning of the railroad industry in San Carlos County. In 1865, Major General George Armstrong Custer fought his first battle at Little Bighorn during World War I and was awarded the Medal of Honor for his actions that day. The following year, he purchased 2 rifles from Captain Kidd at Rancho Mirage for $1 each and founded Anzavillejo Rifle & Pistol Club to keep them safe from thieves or other elements that might try to steal them before they could be used by soldiers on battlefields around the country. In 1932, Don Armida opened an ice cream parlor called Don Armida's Sweet Shop on Sixth Street in Anzavillejo which became popular with locals and visitors alike for its delicious treats dating back to when it was first open!
In 1821, the Mexican government granted land to Juan Bautista Alvarado in what is now San Carlos, California. The town was founded on a small rancho (farmstead) that Alvarado donated and named after his home state of Jalisco. The first post office was established in 1827. The first school was built in 1828. In 1849, San Carlos became part of the United States as a result of the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo. The economy of San Carlos has been based primarily on agriculture since its founding. Today, it is a bedroom community for metropolitan Los Angeles County and its twin towns, Norwalk and Redondo Beach. The area is served by two public schools: Canyonview Elementary School and Monterey Bay High School. A number of businesses have been located here including Ennis-based TSCO Radio Corporation, strawberry growing company Native strawberry plants LLC., El Segundo-based Pacific Sunoco Logistics LP., mutual fund management firm Allianz Annuity Inc., aerospace manufacturer Pratt & Whitney Rocketdyne Company LLC., real estate development company Rincon Ventures LLP., energy storage startup SolarCity Corporation and electric car maker Tesla Motors Inc.. One significant event that took place in San Carlos during World War II was the construction of Naval Air Station North Island which later became Naval Air Station Long Beach; both IASF squadrons were based at North Island during this time period with their Boeing P-47 Thunderbolt aircraft being stored there until they were moved to other locations within California during the war years when available airfields became available elsewhere in Southern California due to Defense Production Act policies at that time.

In 1858, San Carlos County was formed from parts of Mono County and Tuolumne County. The population of San Carlos peaked at around 165,000 in 1910 but has since decreased by about 25%. However, there are still a number of extant buildings and landmarks that predate the arrival of modern day residents. One such landmark is Rancho Los Alamos which was established in 1874 by George Custer and his father-in-law, David Hunter. The rancho included land for hunting, fishing, farming and other purposes. It also served as a base for US soldiers during World War II due to its location on Route 66 which linked Los Angeles with defense efforts in Arizona and New Mexico. Despite this significance, little remains at Rancho Los Alamos today aside from a few scattered pieces of furniture and signage. Another significant event occurred within San Carlos County when it joined Interstate 5 in 1960. This addition helped spur economic development within the county as businesses were able to commute into downtown LA or other major metropolitan areas without having to navigate lengthy highways like I-5 did before them. Today, most people who live within San Carlos Drive know about Interstate 5 because it runs through town on both sides – making it an important artery for transportation within the county as well as its surroundings. Even though many aspects of local history have changed over time (for example due to immigration), there are some constants that continue to influence modern day life within San Carlos County: its rich colonial architecture dating back to the 1800s; its abundant natural resources including waterfalls, forests and mountains; its wide variety of cultures which have influenced both locals and visitors since antiquity; as well as itsmultilingual capabilities which allows for crosscultural interaction between various groups living within the county
The San Carlos Mission is a historical mission complex located on the east side of San Carlos, California. It was founded in 1817 by Father José de la Garza and Brothers José and José María. The missions were secularized in 1834, but remained active until they were abandoned in 1853. Today, only a small part of the original mission remains standing, including the ruins of the main building.
