During post-war years there were several waves of immigration which led to increased diversity within the community including Asians (who made up about 20% of total population) and Hispanics (who make up about 43% of total population). This increase has lead to tension and conflict between these groups which has been often addressed through Neighborhood Watch programs or “Diversity Boards” which have been created since 2004 when tensions boiled over following an incident at a Mexican restaurant called La Hacienda Heights .
