In recent years, many residents have begun to move into downtown Rosvelle due to its convenient location near freeway exits and easy access to public transportation services. This has helped spur economic revitalization in the community which now includes several high-rise businesses as well as new housing developments such as Riverfront Park and Mount Carmel Place

Roseville is a small city in Alameda County, California, United States. The population was 382 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Oakland–Fremont–Hayward, CA Metropolitan Statistical Area. Roseville was founded in 1877 by Nicholas Applegate and named for his wife, Rosa Parks. The first permanent settler in what is now Roseville was George Burgess, who arrived in 1878. A post office called "Rosa Parks" was established in 1879, but it did not take off and only served local residents. In 1897, James Mays opened a general store on Elm Street and started selling goods to settlers and travelers passing through the area. He also built a house which still stands today as the town's first building. In 1912, Alice Hixon built a home on White Road south of town for her son Johnnie Hixon Jr., who would become an American doctor and later serve as mayor of Roseville from 1951 to 1959. Johnnie Hixon Sr.'s daughter Alice married Richard Nixon in 1922 and they raised three children - Pat Nixon (1948-2010), Donald Nixon (1953-1964) and Christine Nixon (born 1957). In 1969, Alice Hixon donated her home on White Road to the City of Roseville for use as a public library after she retired from her job as librarian at Montclair High School across the street from her home. The City of Roseville renamed its former library "Alice Hixon Library" in honor of their late mother-in-law. In 1984, entrepreneur Don Bollinger bought property east of town along I-580 near Stanford University and began developing it into what is now known as Silicon Valley Park with initial plans to create 100 acres (40 hectares) of open space that would include stores.................................................................................. ...................................................................... ................................................................. ............................. ....................................................... ............................................................................ ....... Roseville is a city located in the East Bay region of Northern California. It was founded on November 11, 1868, by brothers George and John Rose. The city was named for Princess Alice of Battenberg, who had married Prince Arthur, Duke of Connaught and Strathearn in 1865. The first post office in Roseville opened on October 25, 1876. The present building was built in 1916 and is used as the City Hall. In 1922, the City Council voted to change its name to Roseville-Sunnyvale after merging with Sunnyvale from neighboring San Jose. In 1969, Roseville became one of 10 cities within the newly created Silicon Valley metropolitan area. From then until 2003 it was also home to the University of California at Davis campus which gave it a reputation as "The Silicon Valley University". In 2010 UC Davis announced that they would be moving out of town due to budget cuts and rising tuition rates having caused them to lose nearly half their endowment since 2000. At that time the university closed all but one building on campus (the Physics Building) and sold off most of their land leaving only a handful of buildings still standing including Irvine Library and administration buildings near downtown Roseville.
