He also felt that wearing firearms shirts symbolized patriotism and support for law enforcement efforts. After Sheriff McCarthy died in 1998, his successor sheriff Jerry Brown began promoting firearm shirts as part of his campaign rhetoric. Brown has been advocating for more handgun regulation ever since he took office in 2001, which has led to increased sales of firearm t-shirts among law enforcement officers across the country. The first firearm shirt company in Rosemead, California was F.A.T. (First American Tactical) which was founded by four friends in 1984. The company produced a variety of clothing including weapon holsters and apparel for the outdoor market. In 1990, the company merged with another Rosemead-based firearms manufacturer, O’Reilly Arms, to form what is now known as O’Reilly Firearms Corporation.
Rosemead is a small town located in the Central Valley of California. The population was 9,782 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Fresno metropolitan area. The first European to visit Rosemead was Giovanni da Vergata on September 12, 1597, upon his return from his ill-fated voyage to America. His report mentioned that he had seen "a beautiful city and a great people" and he named it after his hometown of Vergata in Tuscany, Italy. On October 5, 1848, during the Gold Rush era in California, many prospectors seeking gold urged their families and friends to move westward into what was then known as Tulare County because there were abundant nuggets available. General James Riley sent 1,500 men under Captain Hiram Sutter overland from Sacramento to explore this new landmass called Nevada Territory. Upon arrival at Rosemead on January 21, 1849 they found no gold but continued their journey due north until they reached the Truckee River on February 8th where they camped for the night near present-day Fresno. The next day they continued downriver until reaching Carson City on February 10th and started homesteading what would become Rosemead (from Spanish rosada meaning “golden”). In 1850 surveyor John Crespi marked off two square miles of what is now Rosemead with a post office called Cedar Grove which served as both headquarters for Ulysses S. Grant's army arrayed against Mexican forces during the American Civil War and also as a rest stop for travelers between stations along river routes such as Donner Pass orpuncheon Valley east of Yosemite National Park. On December 17th Governor George Low assigned Orvil Carlson to purchase 640 acres northwest of present-day Cedar Grove from Jethro Poston for $10 per acre ($140 per lot). This parcel became known as Westheimer Ranch which included some of today's streets including Center Street and South Main Street

Rosemead is a small town in the San Joaquin Valley of California, located about 30 miles east of Fresno. It is part of the Fresno-Madera, CA Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 7,823 at the 2010 census. The name "Rosemead" comes from an early pioneer settler's daughter named Rose who spelled her name "Ross." In 1881, George H. Ross (a grandson of pioneer farmer and Rosemead business magnate Isaac Ross) donated land to make up what would become the town site. In 1907, Rosemead became a city with a population of 3,500 people when it merged with nearby Madera. Today's Rosemead contains many reminders of its past: The original courthouse still stands; the Friends Meeting House is a unique Moderne structure built in 1922; and several local businesses remain operational including The Red Onion restaurant and some restored buildings used as apartments or office space.
Rosemead is a city located in Contra Costa County, California. The population was 33,744 at the 2010 census. Rosemead began as an agricultural community surrounding the Rancho de las Pulgas (now part of Claremont), which was granted to James Irvine in 1849. The land was then sold to Miguel Sanchez and his brother-in-law Antonio Villarreal for $1,000 cash in 1865. In 1870, Santiago Ramirez bought 1,200 acres of land from Sanchez and built the firstadobe home in Rosemead. Rosenwald Brothers groceries opened its doors on May 4th, 1922 on what is now called Main Street.
